At 5 weeks you should be (as you are) on soft foods but focussing on protein. I have never weighed my food - never needed to as the amount I can eat is so small. you very quickly learn the full feeling and when to stop and when just one more mouthful will have you reeling. At 6 months post op I...
I'm 6 months post op and have eaten out quite a lot. I have never needed a card and tbh I would find it more embarrassing flashing it than just getting on and ordering my food. A starter portion has always been enough for me but when there's been a main course I really want I order it, eat my...
The main aim of the purée stage is to get food into you but being gentle on your newly sleeved stomach. There will still be healing going on inside so blending food to mush is easier on your digestion. Try and keep the main focus of your food on protein as that is what your body really needs to...
Today I had a banana for breakfast, chicken Caesar salad for lunch minus the croutons and with low cal Caesar dressing and for supper I will be having steak and the other half of the Caesar salad. Yum!
Plenty of water and a few coffees.
I've lost 8 stone so far and it's still coming off. :D
Having the sleeve surgery isn't an easy option but it was definitely the right one for me. I have no intention of having the bypass despite having another 5-ish stone to lose. I honestly believe that the sleeve will do it for me if I work...
It is possible to stretch your stomach after your op, but if, and it's a big if, you won't do it for a good while post-op. the early days you are full after literally a couple of mouthfuls. I am 6 months post-op tomorrow. The few times I have misjudged my food intake and tried to squeeze in just...
Post-op is such a difficult time and I'm sorry you're having a hard time. But be gentle with yourself. Your stomach is recovering from being sliced and stitched, you have wounds and probably bruising that need to heal so don't try and run before you can walk.
I had my op in Czech on a Tuesday...
It's not unusual to come out of surgery weighing more than when you went in! You've been pumped full of drugs, fluids etc and your body has undergone an ordeal.
I bet in 2 weeks you'll be telling a very different story!
If its any help, I'm 38 and in my second year at Uni as I've now finally worked out what I want to do!
There aren't many people who know at school leaving what they want to do and get out there and do it. The advice to go and try your hand at things is excellent. If you go with something you...
If you are enjoying Zumba I would stick with it but go with the lower intensity options. Make sure you've eaten something about an hour before class. I always have a banana an hour before a workout to give me the fuel to get through it. However you may find you've got to up your general fitness...
I would agree that if you can afford it - go for it!
I have a PT that I see twice a week. He is excellent for many reasons. I never do the same workout twice with him. We are always doing something different, one day it will be boxing, another it will be gym balls, medicine balls, spinning...
...as I hit my century this morning!!!!
I'm really quite chuffed to have lost 100lbs in such a relatively short time so please forgive the little boast but I'm very aware that there is still a long way to go. But hey - I'm ready for the next 100lbs now. Bring it on!!!
My appointment was with a very lovely lady who asked me lots bout how I see myself, how I reward myself, how I need to find other ways of rewarding or punishing myself than with food... That sort of hint. They're not there to make judgments on suitability though so don't worry.
Whatever you're doing is working for you so I wouldn't worry too much. Do you weigh everything or do you now just know what 50g (or whatever) of something looks like? Just being nosey....
