I've not been here in a while Scooter , so I'm really glad to hear everything finally is right with you.
You look amazing in your photo!
Great news about the holiday, definitely what you deserve after the year you've had. :talk017:
Funnily enough Paul, I was practically veggie before my bypass, but thought I should try to eat some meat for the protein afterwards but just can't stomach it...not even after hours in the slow cooker. :)
Oooh not been on here for ages, popped back tonight and there you go reminding me that hair loss could be imminent , hope its skipped you though Caren xxxx
I'm just over 3 months post op now and I struggle with all three so I stick to quorn meat mostly, I can manage about 2 teaspoons of rice and a few tiny nibbles of bread. I am finding though that my tastes have changed a lot and I really enjoy my fruit and veg now.
The nurse practitioner I saw for my pre op appointment told me not to drink alcohol the night before surgery, but I wouldn't drink anyway in the run up to my op...alcoholic drinks are full of sugar, and of course like lots of others have said why risk not shrinking your liver enough?
Yesterday I ate out for the first time since my op...
I had a prawn cocktail and just ate the prawns and a little bit of whoemeal bread and ome mash and gravy off my partners plate!
Today out of sheer greediness I ate 6 French frie style chips and 2 onion rings and felt really really sick...
Paula you seem to be doing really well, I struggled at first getting anywhere near the proper amount of fluids, but now at nearly 6 weeks out I'm getting there!

Hi Angela and welcome!
I gained an inch in height mysteriously...during my hospital visits!
Lots of luck with your weight loss and hope you don't have a long wit for surgery.
