    Unfortunately, I'm back.

Well, it's done. And I am so annoyed! There was nothing wrong with my band. It hadn't slipped. It was functioning exactly as it should!!! What the hell, I hear you say? Yeah, me too. Turns out I have a massive hiatus hernia which is so big that it looked like the bulging part of my stomach...

    Unfortunately, I'm back.

Hi, folks. Well, The pre-op went well, my BP is perfect, I'm in good health, so that's that sorted. The pre-op nurse couldn't tell me anything about a date for surgery, that dept only deals with the physical side of pre-op, nothing admin. She suggested I give the admissions nurse a call so...

    Unfortunately, I'm back.

Hi, all members old and new. I'll try to keep it short, but even so, summing up is probably to take time, so make yourself a cuppa. Banded in France in June 2013, as my BMI was steadfastly refusing to go over the point at which NHS would fund. It all went wonderfully, weight was coming down...

I would like my signature to be over 2 or 3 columns...

... and I don't know how! As I update my weight loss, my sig box is now bigger than my posts, usually, which is a bit daft. What I'd like to do is make it go over 2, even 3 columns as time goes on, you know like this: a..........e..........i b..........f..........j c..........g..........k...

think im ok? post op fears

I found I really enjoyed mash with gravy for a while after the op, it was giving me that taste of proper food which I craved after weeks on the pre-op. The advantage is that you can make it more or less liquid according to how you feel.

    Reflux -GERD

Oh gosh, I am SO sorry, I just posted and ran, didn't realise it had been that long ago! How very rude of me! :( Thank you to all who posted, especially as it seems thee was some ruckus afterwards... Anyway, the update is that I'm still here, pretty much in the same position, still having...

    Reflux -GERD

I don't have an after care team as such. I got the op done in France, and the refills in a clinic in London, that's it. I always have had acid reflux, started when I was a child, so it's not the band's fault, in fact, it improved a lot after the op and with the weight-loss. I am going back...

    Reflux -GERD

Hiya! Long time no see, but no news is good news, right? Doing ok, still loving my band. Very slow weight-loss, but I am still getting major restriction so there is absolutely no point in going for another fill. Even though the scales don't seem to be shifting much, my body shape is and I...

    Can't find a thread!!!

Hey, everyone! Off sick, so vaguebooking, catching up with threads, trawling t'Internet, as you do. I am trying to find a thread on here, which was a link (stickied, I thought) to someone's description of their band's behaviour and why when there was a problem it was usually down to user's...

    Happy 1st surgiversary to MEEEEEEE!!!

I do feel pretty awesome, I must say. I have even started going swimming (as of last week, mind you), started with 40 lengths, and did 50 yesterday! and I still only have had one fill, and absolutely do not need to get it done again just yet, plenty of restriction (a bit too much at times!) and...

    Happy 1st surgiversary to MEEEEEEE!!!

29 kgs, (that's 4 stone and 7.93 pounds for the imperial ones amongst you) and gone down 5 dress sizes. Still a long way to go to my goal, but still damned pleased about it. I don't pop in much these days, life is always too busy, isn't it? But I wanted to share this special day with you...

{{{HUGS}}} What an awful thing to be told. This is what my friend said to me on FB Inbox the other day, and anything less you shouldn't have to hear: "And you look f***ing amazing by the way :) (...) And you really do look f***ng amazing...keep it up and do NOT let it slip...I like the...

Don't really know where to put this, so it can go in chit-chat, if mods think it would be better elsewhere, feel free to move! Just wanted to share this with everyone, because it has been one of my best purchases ever, and I soooo wish I had had it when I was doing my pre-op (and post-op...

NT1977's Journey to a new life - my stall explained!

Hi, lovely. I can't pretend I understand how you feel, so I am not going to come up with advice, because the truth is I wouldn't know what to say. All I can do is send you my biggest hugs and hope that you find the place in your head where you find the balance to like the new you. You have...

claiming for help for mobility issues

Remember these people are not there to grant you the benefit, but to deny you any chance they can. Assume you're under observation as soon as you approach the building, and definitely as soon as you step inside. Good luck.

    Flying after surgery?

You will need to get a fitness to fly certificate from the doctor, or the airline might turn you away. For someone who's had a heart attack, the regulations are 14 days post before they can fly. For a broken leg, it's about 4 days (with split cast). Personally, I would be reluctant to fly so...
