I would suggest some further investigation asap.

    Newbie with lots of Q's

I personally didn't have to do a pre-op diet. The main important thing I had to do was stay off alcohol for a week (I think) before surgery. If you smoke (I don't), you need to quit.

Thanks hun. I'm still lurking, just not posting much.

    Goodbye band

I don't, but I can't be bothered to argue about it. It works for many people, and the RNY and sleeve were far too drastic for what I wanted. I wasn't overweight enough to need or want a gastric bypass and I've had no problems with my band whatsoever. Oh and FWIW, once you've reached the optimum...

    My journey starts here..

Nothing to report. Band a bit tight, might have a slight defill at some point. Weight loss stalled, but impending wedding will spur me on. No problems with band, don't regret it. Lost 2.5 stone which is OK. Just need to keep it off. Doubt I'll post much more on here, adios.

    WLS programme - Dr Pepper?

Ok so I'm a bander, but I'm watching a programme about a very big woman (42 stone) who's had a gastric bypass to save her life (she's American, from Texas), but she's just gone to a drive through and bought a large full-fat Dr Pepper. Surely bypassers can't drink that!?? Is she not taking this...

    whats your thoughts

    Well done, good choice!

    Advice please

1.5ml sounds a lot in one go. I'd consider going back and having a slight defill. You can always go back and have a bit more put in at a later date. If you can't even drink fluids comfortably after three days, I think you're over-restricted.

    Overfilled or will it settle?

I think the fill was too much for you. Same thing happened to me with a fill of 0.5ml. It didn't settle after two days and I went back and had the whole 0.5 taken out. I later went back and had 0.2ml put in and it was fine. I couldn't even drink tea.

2 years in and lost my way

Firstly, so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I sadly know how you feel, my dad died suddenly on June the 5th 2006. At the moment nothing seems real, I know. As for your band, don't beat yourself up. You have been trying to cope with the worst disaster your life has ever thrown at you, so...

two weeks post op after band reposition due to slip

I know how miserable you must feel hun. I was sick of liquids and starving after two weeks, never mind four. Hang in there and try to think it's a short time in the grand scheme of things. You'll be on mushies before you know it but you have to have an iron will in the meantime with no more...

    Gastric Band questions

By lap they just mean laparoscopic, the process by which most if not all bands are inserted.

My barium swallow, marshmallow swallow and reflux experience

Sounds like quite an unpleasant experience, you poor thing. Hope they can get to the bottom of what's causing it and sort you out x

    Back on it!

Welcome back! I struggle to eat breakfast too, so I often have a Complan shake to kick start me - I love salads for lunch too. Good luck!!

    Sickness bug and band

I had something similar to Norovirus on holiday earlier this year, it was horrendous. I retched so hard I thought I'd regurgitate my whole stomach. I had nothing inside me and black bits were coming up, it was terrifying. The worst of it lasted for a whole night, every 20-30 minutes. However...
