The flu vaccine after weightloss ...Advice needed.

I have the flu jab. I've had it for years, since I have asthma (albeit very mild) I did not think twice about getting the jab again this year. Bypass or no bypass, I've had proper flu before and I thought I was going to DIE. I seriously thought my number was up. Ever since then I have had a...

Op 4 weeks away and I can't stop crying about it :(

Needtofeelnormal - just to reassure you that when you are on the other side of the op and recovered you will probably still feel pretty normal - albeit THINNER and HEALTHIER. I would eat meals with a heavy heart thinking, well I will never eat that again but actually there is not ONE thing that...

    What's the best protein powder

They are shooting themselves in the foot if that is the case. Ross Edgley (one of the guys behind Protein Works) could not be nicer. I follow them and on my bypass Twitter page and they often re-tweet comments I make about getting healthier using their products. Ross has an awesome body...

    What's the best protein powder

I use Protein Works - they have a vast range and very friendly customer service, but i'm also going to try My Protein too - flavours and textures change from make to make.

    Skin Tags

I've tied a bit of string around a couple and they do fall off - not totally painless. Teatree oil can work too. Dab it on morning and night and will eventually shrivel up and die. I nipped one off with a pair of very sharp, very clean nail scissors once - ouch! but it went.

    Newbie need to start somewhere

Hi Just, Welcome to the forum - i hope you will find it interesting. It may be a little out of your way, but there is a group that meets in East Grinstead every month. You are welcome to join that for support. Have a look under the Support Groups section and see if there is anything more...

Op 4 weeks away and I can't stop crying about it :(

Hi NeedtofeelNormal. As others have said, what you are feeling is very normal in this situation. On the subject of nerves because of the stories you have read on boards, please remember that people tend to post about the problems because they are seeking support, reassurance and advice. There...

Is sushi any good on LSD?

It depends on your LSD requirements. If you are doing a low calorie LSD you might find your calories are better spent on food that has more Protein in it - keeps you full longer. Sushi can be very low in fat, but also quite high in carbs. It's that old balancing act again. If your provider has...

As sad as this is it still makes me mad! mail on line 26/08/2014

Poor journalism. DM have been known to twist facts and portray people very badly. While it's obvious that this lady has issues with her relationship with food, he had lost a lot of weight already and I question if she actually does need another Op or just more support with her food issues. It...

    Another Vitamin Thread

Just swapped to Centrum 50+ from Boots multi-vits, Floradix 2 x day, VitB12 sublingual nugget and Calcium chews all daily. I'm also supplementing with B1, Biotin and evening primrose oil for skin and hair. Some are big tablets but they go down fine.

    Ice cream

I eat Wheyhey. It's a little pricer than normal ice cream but i only have a small serving so it is not too bad. It's made with whey protein so good to keep up the protein content. Pretty yummy too.

    Bypass VS sleeve

Sorry to hijack your thread for a moment - but WOW Yve, look at you in your dress - so lovely. Congratulations! (Hijack over!)

    Bypass VS sleeve

I chose bypass because I didn't think Sleeve would be as effective for me and I also didn't like the idea of a part of me being removed and chucked in the bin (each to their own!) I am coming up 5 months out, have not dumped and had no issues at all so far. If you eat sensibly, then dumping...

Have ypu been able to eat steak?

I'm not a bander - a bypasser, but I've had no problems with any kind of meat. I believe meat can be a common problem for banders and bypasser. I just make sure it's not overcooked and chew chew chew. Because I only have small portions, I tend to go for the really good cuts now, just so I...

    Hi I'm Mo

Hi Mo, I went private, The Spire -Gatwick Park. I am not sure where in London you are but it was a fabulous experience with great aftercare. It's worth checking out more than one option if you are paying for the op yourself. Good Luck on your journey.

    Regrets

I wish I had never needed the surgery in the first instance. There are days where I wish I could just still eat what I want to eat without having to consider the fat and sugar content. There are days when I would like to order 3 courses. There are days where I would like to drink an ice cold...

    The Beginning

I think there is a fine line between being pointing out some home truths and being disrespectful to your patients. It sounds as if this particular surgeon has some niggling issues with how people arrive at his door. My surgeon was very honest with me, but he was also kind, warm, funny and...

Hi, I'm a mess. nice to meet you!!

Miss Piggy - I would say your story is familiar to a lot of us. As part of my package I spoke with a Psychiatrist to help sort out if surgery was right for me and it did help me understand my issues, have you thought about asking your GP for a referral to a counsellor or similar so you can...
