I think the band gives the stomach a kink n from what i understand n have read...a sleeve is not as sucessful after a band. As me n my friend both had bands n we lost only a little where as 2 other people i know who never had a band lost like 7+ stones with the sleeve.
I had a band with no success 8yrs ago. I had a sleeve 4yrs ago & only lost 2 stone....&yes all back on & more. So today i visited my doctor to ask for bariatric surgery...my previous surgeries i funded myself.
But i would like to have the sleeve re done as i dont believe they made it...
I had it done at Surgal clinic. My friend bartered them on the price & got it even cheaper than me :(....I recovered very well & the hospital is top class. It felt we were at a luxury spa lol
I understand what u mean but I need to kick start my weightloss so jus gona try for 2 weeks & c how I get on.

Hi CaniSani, just read this post. I was thinking today that I am going to start the Atkins phase 1 too and see how I go. There is a man on youtube that has had the sleeve and has lost 6stones doing the atkins diet. How have you and kurstywursty got on with the atkins diet so far
On day of op I was 16st.11....I'm now 16.1. So have lost 10 llbs in 6 days not bad. I jus hope I keep it up as at that rate I b 1 skinny Minnie in no time lol. My aim is to lost 7 stone in total

Hi Gill, I had my sleeve done on tues jus gone & I was up & about properly within 2 days of my surgery. I'm now back to work 6 days out. I feel fine, am earing well albeit very soft foods & liquids. Lost jus over a stone already & loving my band
Hi Regina, I had my sleeve 5 days ago now and im doing abso fine so far. Each day does get better as i was sore at times til a few days after surgery but each day you get better especially as you take your meds along the way.

They said 3 weeks but I cant, I don't have any leave left and have had too much sickness this annual year already. However, I don't really do much anyway just sit there and type a few things up but most of the time I chat with my mate. My work don't know about my op as I chose not to tell.
Hi all, I must say, even though I had my op on Tuesday, I am feeling abso fine and ready to go back to work tomorrow. Ive been out shopping today with some help from my daughter of course but I am feeling really good. No pain at all and managing to eat a pot of yoghurt with no probs at all...
had my op tues & now ready to go home. The clinic was beautiful more like a spa than a hosp. Eating fine, jus aving yoghurt & liquids which r goin down fine. So glad to be on the sleevers bench. Looking forward to go home today tho as not much to do here in Czech.

Hi All, I'm off to Czech Republic tomorrow for my sleeve surgery. Cant believe the day is nearly here! My op is Tuesday midday. Luggage all packed! House cleaned from top to bottom. Will be waking up tomorrow with a smile on my face as I know the day is drawing so very near.
