newbie considering mini gastric bypass with Belgium surgery services

Hi, I had surgery with Dr Chris 6 years ago. It was a very smooth process and Dr Chris and his team are lovely. The hospital they use is a general hospital with all necessary facilities including ICU and A&E. I travelled alone but the hotel accomodation allows for someone to accompany you...

    Likely rejection

Completely agree, it is ridiculous that it varies so much. I would also have been too old for Scotland. The funniest thing was sitting in my chair in the hospital post surgery and picking up a voicemail from my local hospital dietician...thanks but no thanks x

    Likely rejection

I don't post here much anymore but NICE issue "guidelines"...they are not rules and hospitals are able to add there own extra criteria especially if budgets are tight. My local hospital was BMI of 50 with co-morbs or 60 without. This is why I went overseas. I do remember from reading lots of...

    Liver reducing diet

I really don't think @Mazza was saying not to ask questions...it's just that each hospital has it's own rules for the liver reducing diet and you must ask them before you make any changes. Good luck on your journey. Lynn x

    Worried about this diet

You need to focus on the fact that the LSD is NOT about losing weight (it doesn't matter how many syns are in the food, it is not on your plan), it is about shrinking your liver to make surgery safe. As Maria says, you will probably be ok but you must stick to your plan from now on. Good luck...

    Surgery in Belgium

The stairs and not getting a seat were my concerns about the tube, although the cab ride was bumpy it wasn't too bad and I had a nice driver, who was from the area I grew up in, and we chatted about that and it took my mind off things

    Surgery in Belgium

I travelled alone on Eurostar and it was much easier than I expected as it is all relatively flat and I was able to get a seat close to the luggage rack and exit . The most difficult part of my journey back was the black cab ride from St Pancras to Victoria coach station as it was so bumpy. Lynn x

    Surgery in Belgium

If you are staying at The Lodge, my pre-op room had a double but my post-op one had twins. I had different rooms as I travelled on my own so checked out and back in again. If you travel with someone you will keep the same room. Lynn x

    Week 3 gain!

Don't worry it is perfectly normal. Your body has been through an awful lot and sometimes need to play catch up. Just looked back through my dairy and I lost 12lbs the first week and then consistently lost 2lbs then had a massive 9lbs loss followed by a 2lb gain.Your weight is also affected by...

Getting back on track after taking my eye off the ball

Hi lovely Crystal...wonderful to hear from you. I am getting back on it after letting things slide for a long time. I finally faced the scales and was saddened to realise I had gained 3 stone. I am 8 days into Dry January and feeling massively better just from that. I am also eating healthily...

Getting back on track after taking my eye off the ball

Hi, I haven't been on here for quite a while either and I am having the same issues. I will be 3 years out at the end of March and my weight is slowly creeping up (not sure exactly how much I weigh at the moment as I only get on the scales to weigh my dogs). Like you I can eat more and also make...
