    Feeling really ill

So sorry to hear that you feel so awful slinky! I've had a few days where I've felt ill for no apparent reason that I could put my finger on, but at other times I've been able to track down possible reasons. As others say, if you still feel bad later in the say it may be an idea to give your...

Decision made - Marz's sleeve diary

I was on the chewables during the early post-op stages too. Didn't have any issues on those at all.

    Milk diet

I feel really sorry for you guys who have these really long milk diet programs in your area. I didn't have to do a milk diet at all. My pre-op (bypass) diet was 2 weeks long and consisted of clear soup, lean chicken/turkey/white fish, eggs and leafy greens. I wasn't allowed dairy at all So I...

Gastric Bypass vs Gastric Sleeve... Let's discuss

Basically the best opinion is the surgeon's opinion after they've got a good idea of your other health issues, your weight history and your issues around food. If you're not sure, the best port of call is to have a consultation and discuss the options. I went for a mini-bypass and I did so...

You're not allowed to crush the tablets instead of dissolving and disguise them in a spoon of yoghurt or something?

Decision made - Marz's sleeve diary

Hey Marz You did the right thing and if your provider was adamant that you stick to the eating plan they've given you, that is what you should do. Are you able to phone them up and tell them that the Forcival makes you vomit? I'm sure they can suggest an alternative if you do and that'd...

    October 2015 Surgeries

I've not been to the gym regularly since June when I was at my heaviest. The way I got through it was simply jamming in headphones, blasting music at myself and ignoring what was going on around me. I got to the point where I could do 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer with my eyes closed...

Getting there slowly, half way through the assessment process!

If you're managing to lose weight with all that stress in your life then it just goes to show how committed to it you are purpleme :) I wouldn't worry too much about losing too much weight. I think the key they want to see is that you can make life changes, but they know that without surgery...

    Disappointed Zara

Hey Zara Have they given you any reason for the delays in surgery? It is simply cancelled dates or do they keep changing the goalposts on you?

Getting there slowly, half way through the assessment process!

Sounds like you're getting some good news and it's all looking positive purpleme! It also sounds as though you've been doing fantastic mental preparation during your weight - your loss is amazing considering you're going it alone with no WLS tools to help you. Fingers crossed for your next...

    October 2015 Surgeries

Happy New Year Anna! :) Doing great here too - I'm now at just a smidge over 3 stone loss and heading towards being 3 clothes sizes down too. No real difficulties so far other than having to continue the stomach acid pills longer than anticipated. Gym induction tomorrow - joining to do...

    Im a newbie :)

Welcome :) Another bypasser here (mini bypass) - had it done in October and not regretting it so far. It's a big decision but, once made, it's exciting!

Decision made - Marz's sleeve diary

Totally agree, it is hard! I've spoken to people who think it's a matter of just getting an op and then forgetting about it and magically ending up thin forever more. My post-op plan was 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks puree, 2 weeks 'soft and mushy' and then moving on. Trying to tick the boxes on...

    Quinoa anyone?

I love Quinoa. Just buy a bag of the plain stuff from the wholefood section of the supermarket. I tend to start with a base of onion and garlic, then add the Quinoa and pour over veg stock. From there you can add anything you like - peppers, mushrooms, chilli, feta cubes etc etc. A couple...

    PRE-OP DIET HELP?

What sort of pre-op diet were you given? I know that the one I was on didn't allow any of the things you mention above. Were you given a list of foods to eat? If you were, generally unless something is explicitly mentioned on the list you can't have it. The dodgiest things you mention above...

Pre op diet 1 more say to go

I think Day 2-3 on the pre-ops diets are the worst as that's when you seem to have a major sugar withdrawal and hit the dumps. After that it's pretty plain sailing. I was dreading the pre-op diet but didn't have any issue with it at all when it came down to it. Good luck! :)
