Hello again!
I haven’t been able to get on line for a long time but my login is working again now and I’ve got some good news so I thought I’d write you a short update...
11th September I had a phone call from Luton to let me know that my funding for surgery has finally been approved...
Hiya @Lottiewishes. I’m not to bad thanks but I still haven’t heard about my first tier 4 appointment yet!! :banghead:
I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow so I’ll chase it up with them and see if I can find out what is causing the hold up.
How’s you? Xx
Hi @MattG welcome to the forum. I completed a year of teir 3 sessions in December 2017 and then I met with the team for an end of tier 3 review mid January 2018 and they wrote to my GP confirming I had successfully completed tier 3. My GP sent a tier 4 referral letter to Luton & Dunstable on...
Hello @sarahjaneward I'm pretty new to this site - (I’ve completed tier 3 and am waiting for my tier 4 appointment to see surgeon). I’ll be following your journey with interest and wish you all the best for 9th April. It’s not selfish to focus on your health, with good health you can be a...
Hi and welcome to the group.
All tier 3 programs are slightly different. I did Weigh Forward which is my local tier 3. It was a 12 month program of healthy eating, regular group sessions and weigh ins, and psychiatric sessions which looked at things such as our attitude towards food and taught...
Hi @Lottiewishes I’m doing ok but I’m still waiting for an appointment date!! I’m just trying to put it to the back of my mind as the waiting is driving me crazy
How are you? Xx
Hi there @TheLargeOne welcome to this forum. I definitely think you need to contact the weigh ahead people. My local group was called weigh forward and I had to wait almost a year between referral and starting the course but I did have a telephone interview with them a few weeks after referral...
Hi welcome to this forum. I’m not at the same hospital as you and each deal with the process differently so I can’t help unfortunately, but keep us posted. Good luck :hugs:xx
Hi @Laura Byard sorry I can’t help you with your questions but I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum and good luck with your weight loss journey:scale: xx
Hi @Bling Babe OMG! Surgery in just a couple of weeks! You sound soooo excited and I’m so happy for you :woohoo:I have now followed you on here and will read your thread. Please keep us updated - I can’t wait to hear all about your operation and how things are going for you. Best of luck xx :hugs:
Wow @OkieGirl I bet that is exhausting to travel so far for each appointment but as you say it’ll be worth it in the end!
I now realise I have been lucky that they run a tier 3 service locally to me as it involved a 2 hour group session every 2 weeks for 6 months and then once a month for the...
Hi @OkieGirl I’m so glad I’ve found this forum every one seems so nice and supportive!
I’ve actually already completed tier 3 locally so my referral to Luton is now for tier 4 as our local hospital doesn’t offer surgery. My BMI is over 40 and I am diabetic (I inject insulin) and I have high...
Congratulations on having had your surgery @_Victoria_ and I’m glad to read that you are feeling happier now that you’re able to eat solids again :eating:. Keep up the great work you know you can do it xx :hugs:
