So, I've not updated for a while and thought, as I've just gone past my 6 month surgiversary mark I'd do a little update.
So stats - started pre op at 21stone 1lb, 2 weeks later had op at 20 stone. Now, 6 months later I've lost nearly 5 stone (4 stone 9lbs to be precise) and I'm delighted with...
I also think I'm going to be in the 17s forever! Two weeks of stay the same is driving me bonkers!! Just keeping my head down and keeping going. Hope to do my 16s dance soon. Well done on your losses!
Prepare yourselves for a rant ..... I think today has been my hardest so far. Very hard going at work and then hospital appointment to see my dietician. Not only had she cancelled at the last minute the previous week, she then turned up 30 mins late this week. She's been late for every...
Thank you, looks like you're going great guns too! Hooray for us!
2lbs off this week, 46lbs altogether and comfortably in the 17s now. Am trying to be slightly less of a scales-whore and because I'm still always on them! Seeing the dietician next week but all is going well.
Thank you for your lovely comments. One thing I have been learning during this process - I pretty much eat the same things every week and some weeks I lose 3lbs, sometimes nothing! This drove me mad initially but now I've realised that it's just the way my body works, to trust in my little tummy...
Sorry not to have got back to you sooner, first week back to school has been crazy! I started by just having 3 pints of milk a day but after about 4 days of that I felt so ill and spent most of my time on the loo, so I got in to a routine of 1 weetabix and milk, 2 pints of milk and chicken and...
Probably a good time to update on progress so far. I've lost 41lbs (hopefully a pound or two more tomorrow) and I'm on the cusp of the 17 stones which is exciting. Will be glad to say goodbye to the 18s and never see them again.
Food wise, all is going well. I'm still trying new things and the...
So my average day is:
1 weetabix with fortified milk
A liberte yoghurt
100ml soup (about 4g of protein)
2 crackerbreads with some Philadelphia on them
A protein shake (I like the upbeat ones)
100g of dinner which is either chilli and rice, low fat chicken curry and rice or pasta with bolognaise...
So 7 weeks post op and I've lost 37lbs so far, a nice loss of 4lbs after my 12 day stall which meant I stayed the same last week. Feeling far more energetic, eating tiny amounts but keeping up the protein and I'm getting more liquids in too which is good. I'm hoping for another 7lbs over the...
I had to do mine for a month after my op. I completely freaked out about it but then I just sat down and did it and it really wasn't that bad. In the whole big scheme of things it's nothing but I know why you're worried! It becomes routine pretty soon x
So this week 3lbs off. I'm happy with that. The food and liquids are slowly increasing and I'm working towards upping my steps too to be a bit more active. Can't wait for the Easter holidays though, I'm shattered!
So I thought I'd pop on an update! Today I am 4 weeks post op and I've lost 30lbs since the beginning of this process, 15lbs in the 2 weeks pre-op diet and 15lbs since my op. I'm now on to 'soft foods and definitely won't miss purée! So this morning I had half a weetabix with milk, then soup...
I'm glad you've said that as I'm really struggling. I still feel restriction with more than 2 sips of liquid - it seems worse with liquids rather than thicker soups or purée?
I'm doing ok thanks. 3 weeks today since I had my surgery. Only lost a pound this week but I think I've hit the dreaded 3 week stalk. There is no way that I'm eating too much - just following the instructions! I'm sure it will start shifting again soon.
The scars are healing nicely now but I'm...
I'm doing ok thanks, making a real effort today to eat and drink more as it's easy to just forget. I'm on to purée now so I have mushy weetabix for breakfast and I've been blending thicker soups with meat in them to try and up the protein. Tonight I'm going to try purée meat in gravy with mashed...
