Heroes come in different forms,
And some are never known ...
Giving all they could possibly give
From their hearts and on their own.

Everyone is one of those heroes,
Who ran before being asked.
They knew the horror and suffering there
And performed one of life's greatest tasks.

The pictures show the work they have done,
To help feed the folks at Ground Zero.
The American people deserves that credit
And the title of "American Heros."

my they all rest in peace and my god be with there familys today and always.xxxx

This day is sad for me as an Ameican. I remember being wakened that morning by a phone call and being told to turn the news on, the person did not say what had happened only that I needed to see for myself. That was after the 1st tower fell but before the second. As my hubby and I watched in horror, we saw the second tower fall. We were stunned by sheer violence of it. My heart goes out to those who lost their loved ones and to all those brave men and women who tried to help but lost their lives. American had many heroes that day, and many more in the days and months that followed.

This day also has a joyous side for me personally because 3 years ago today I left my home in Oregon and made my way to England. On that day 3 years ago as I excitedly imagined my new life in the UK, I also thought about the country I was leaving behind. I felt sadness as I pondered the war that was being waged in the name of 9/11 and hoped that we would see the end of that soon. I am sad to know years later that many more lives have been lost in that war that continues on.

I send a big wish for peace and harmony, and hope some will join me. I am hoping that the next 3 years will bring this ugly chapter in world history to a close and brave men and women will stop dying.

I still remember the day so clearly :(

RIP

I can still clearly remember sitting with a client watching this unfold on CNN and having the realisation hit her that her husband was in a breakfast meeting in one of the towers. To her husband, to my uncle and all of the other senseless deaths, please know you will forever live in our thoughts and prayers.

It was on this day that I actually became afraid of being American and that continues to terrify me.

Hi Fc

Please don't ever be afraid of being an American...because that's exactly what they intended that day...to instil fear in everyone.

I so feel for you and how awful for your client....what a senseless deaths caused by inhumane cretins who know nothing of Allah's love or God's love...just an excuse.

My husband tell's me to tell you "hi".

(((hugs)))

Every time I think about 9/11 and the families left behind I just feel sick - because it could so easily have been my family.

My oldest brother, who is the member of my family I am closest to, worked in the Pacific Stock Exchange at the time and commuted between NYC and San Francisco regularly (at least once a week) When he was in NYC his office was in the WTC and when he flew between the cities he always flew on one of the routes that went down.

Also, a lovely family friend, was working in NYC in a merchant bank. His office was also in the WTC.

Both wonderful people could have - WOULD HAVE - died. The only reason that they were not killed was because they were both in the UK - attending my wedding which was on the 7th September in South Wales.

I hadn't expected my brother to have been able to make it and I had been absolutely delighted that he and his beautiful daughter had flown over to attend at the last minute.

I remember the news coming in - I was on honeymoon - and my brother being in tears when I phoned him because he had known most of the air crew who had died on his regular flight.

Sorry to bring this round to me but every time I hear about 9/11 it is like a stab in the ribs.

Blessings to everyone affected by this tragedy.

love

9/11 is/was a pain felt around the world. I hope that everyone learned a massive lesson from it and that an atrocity like this is never committed again....

Thoughts and love go to everyone who lost a loved one in that terrible crime. xx
