another op question

well my body is playing tricks on me I have come out in gullate psriosis (spelt wrong) due to stress and my period is late.
I can bet money that my monthly friend will be visiting whilst I am in hopsital silly question but can you be operated on if you are on your period ? can you just wear a pad in your paper knickers ?

i have really bad totm and i was on very heavy when i had my op, i mentioned it to all different nurses, drs, and the surgical team as it really conserned me but they all sai same dont worry its nothing we have not seen before, i wore a pad in theatre and after when cathater was in, not ideal with that being in but once thats out all will be fine x dont worry about it because they dont. my advice would be to get big pads as the smaller ones dont give you as much protection if you have the catheter in x

I have seen this sort of question on here before and the advice was that you can wear a pad - I suppose a tampon is not advisable - and not to worry as the theatre nurses will deal with it during the op. There is no need to worry and they have seen this a lot. Just let the nurse in the pre-op ward and also the nurse in the theatre know about the pad. There is no need to worry - it is just part of their job and they have patients who are 'on' all the time.
