    Hi all!

Been coming back to these forums during my journey and thought I'd best sign up!

My own journey started last May with a visit to the doctors, followed by my first visit to Luton & Dunstable in July of last year.

Fast forward to today and I'm half way through my pre-op diet and working toward my op (bypass) on the 8th of August.

Been through a whole range of emotions, still in the denial stage where I still assume something will mean it all won't happen but all my pre-op stuff was very positive so keeping everything crossed.

So hello and good luck and best wishes to everyone wherever stage you're at!

    Cheers

    Tom

    Thanks!

Still got a week to go for me so anything could happen yet! But keeping everything crossed.

Oh my surgeon is Dr Whitelaw, done some reading on him and he seems good so that's a bonus too.

The whole process has been really good, communication has been excellent and all the staff so friendly and helpful.

Up to this point I couldn't recommend L&D any higher!

Its normal to be nervous, but think the quicker you have the op, the quicker you'll be losing weight and gaining all the benefits that go with that. You'll be fine, WLS team look after you very well, so try not to worry too much x

I just want it out the way now!

I've been told I'm a morning surgery so any time between 8am and mid day so at least I shouldn't be waiting around a whole lot.

It's amazing how the milk diet becomes second nature too, I've been doing it over a week now and there have only been a couple of times I've actually thought I was hungry!

I did the milk diet for a month and never felt hungry or craved anything, it was harder when they then put me on the food reintroduction, I wanted to stay on the milk lol.

I was told originally it would be a 30 week wait from March for surgery as Dr Whitelaw is a very popular man so it was surprising to get the phone call after 17 weeks!

Funny to think that (all being well and good) this time next week I'll be back home and recovering!

I started at 171kg (377lb) when at my first doctors appointment and currently sitting at 153kg (337lb) so the whole process has been very positive so far.

Been on the milk diet two weeks today, its been fine but getting more nervous the closer it gets.

Just getting my bag packed ready for Wednesday morning, fingers crossed I don't have to sit around too long (bringing two books in case..)

I'm just over 150kg now, hope they don't turn round and say I've been doing too well!!

Don't worry they won't, they know it's not the losing weight for us, it's the keeping it off!
Good luck for Wednesday, you'll be fine x
