Hotels in Preston near WLSG first trust hospital?

PinkDaisy

I will do it this time!
Hello,

I have found a hotel for 3 of us for 2 nights in preston at the travelodge, for 85 quid, seems brilliant value considering its bank hol weekend.

It is probably a bit of a hole but its just sumwhere to sleep lol, any1 had any experience there or anywhere else?

I lived in Preston most of my life. If I can remember there is Hotel Ibis which is classed as Preston North. You can't get much closer than this hotel. 5 minutes max in a car. :)

Hope this helps

Do you know the travelodge preston central? x

if you book far enough ahead you can get a travelodge for £19 a night.

Just had a look at the one your talking about. New Hall Lane is probably the worst road in Preston, it's not a very nice place. It's also the opposite end of Preston to where your having your op.

Seen as your travelling from the north east, I would try and stick to the hotels in the north of preston (D'urton Lane where your having surgery is the north of Preston).

If you can try and book the hotel I mentioned above because it's really near, or try the one below, it's a bit further out but it avoids Preston City Centre altogether.

its just the price and the fact their is 3 of us for the first night. it was 85 quid at the travelodge preston central, it dus look an awful area but for 85 quid for 3 ppl for 2 nights what can i expect, the travelodge in chorley is a 15min drive away which is good for us and is only 96 quid for 3 of us, is that any better?? The others are quoting 150 plus and i cant afford it x

Hayley's right about the hotels hun,i'm from preston and can vouch for the ibis too:D:D

I think unfortunately im gonna have to stick to travelodge coz of it being 3 of us the other hotels wud be way too much, i guess we will be arriving later afternoon and in the hotel all evening and then at hospital all day saturday so it really is just to put head down for the night, really wish i cud afford sumwhere better but with a 6300 loan looming over me its just gona have to do lol!! Thanks for all ur advice ive checked all the hotels mentioned but sadly outta my reach :(

You'll be fine Verity, like you said its just to put your head down for the night! The Ibis is convenient but am sure the travel-lodge isnt too bad. Dont worry yourself over it, you have a good deal there xx

thanks susie, ive been worrying all night, its a 7minute drive according to route planner and multimap so not bad x

You will be fine there hun, but the other is nearer that'd all.Good luck anyway x:D

Hi Pink Lady, is your op in a private hospital? Sometimes they have rooms which they will let to relatives of patients, it might be worth giving them a ring and asking. If not, they may have a list of B and Bs or hotels they would recommend.

Just thought of another hotel. Its The Withy Trees Hotel on Garstang Road. I'ts privately owned and really close to your hospital. If any of my relatives came over to visit me they stopped there. It's cheap and cheerful I think :)

Hi - The hotel is part of the Horrock's mill conversion. Part of it are flats and part is the hotel. The entrance for the hotel is off New Hall Road and the parking is very secure, you will be fine. The flat complex is private, covered by CCTV and I know people who live there and have had no negative experiences.

Hope that helps.

No problem! Had to step in with a reality check! Lots of luck with your op!

Just for the record, I was merely pointing out that New Hall Lane (the road your hotel is on) is an awful road with regards to traffic, and when I say it not a nice place, again, I mean that it's not nice to be stuck in traffic for a while. But it all depends what time your travelling.

This is why I followed up with alternative hotels.

Just thought I would clear that up, coz it looks like people have intepreted my previous post to say that it's a dodgy area.

Only trying to help! :)
