Ok. Doctor can't prescribe Reductil in the short term cos it causes high BP so I've been looking at alternative ways to lose a few pound whilst waiting for surgery. I bought some Appesat and started them today but have also looked at Zotrim too. The Appesat are expensive at £30 for a box of 50 which will last less than a week whilst the Zotrim is apbout £10 cheaper and lasts longer.
What I'm really asking is whether anyone else has tried these pills and what opinion do you have of them.
All coments gratefully received :)

Appesat is brilliant!!!!!!! Really works if you follow instructions, but you have to make sure your regular meds will be ok. Eg with Insulin is is a no-no. I was on Ramipril, Aspirin and Simvastatin with it and it was fine. Expensive, but really controlls hunger.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I've been on Appesat for 3 days now and I think they are working - only downside is keep going to the toilet and yesterday I had awful diarrhea whenever I ate anything and felt nauseus (Although these are side effects of the tablets). Went to Boots to get some more supplies and they are doing offer of buy two packs and get £10 off, so that was good. Strange tablets - almost look like there's nothing inside them. Bit of a bugger to swallow too as they are quite long. Still - will persevere.

There used to be a slimming tablet in the 70's called Apisate, which used to control hungry you could only grt on prescription.
They were withdrawn as they were addictive, you could get them from a private clinic .

The name sounds very like them but i'me sure they are different ingredients now.

By the way they did work on reducing appetite, and gave you copius energy,i suppose they were "Speed" but i had never heard of that in those days.

Good luck with them
