op day

Good look ul be absolutely fine, I had mine 3 weeks ago and was only in over night and straight onto puree :D Make sure u ask for pain relief if u need it and when u can walk around the hospital ward it really helps with trapped wind that u may get. you don't always get it though but I did and that was the most painful part not the actual incisions, once home girls make sure u get plenty of fluids in aswell. Hope all goes well xx

Is anyone in srh on saturday im in having my op

Good luck, I,m also having my op on Saturday, but at St Anthony's.

Good luck to you both .. Remember to bunch up a little and leave a little space for me on the losers bench. :) x

Thanks everyone and there will defo be a place for you on the bench dannielle is there anything you would recomend to take into hospital

I just took lots of magazines because I had to be their at 7 am and I was first to go down after lunch so long wait. I took vest tops bcoz it gets warm and a pair of loose pj bottoms just for comfort. I hate slippers so I took flip flops and I was even able to get them on thru my sexy hospital stockings haha. They give u paracetamol suspension for pain but also tramadol if its too much but I was abso fine. Like I said the worst bit for me was the wind but just keep moving and ul be A OK :D x

Awww honestly everyone is nervous, I think with most people its the fear of the un known and obvs going under but they r there to look after u and we r all here when u come around to answer ur questions and get u thru. I am still early days but learning everyday. As much as its been strange I haven't regretted my decision x

Well I had mine at rakelane but my aunt used to work at srh and they r lovely there too. think the north east hospitals run a similar sort of ship :D and they often job pool and swap around hospitals. If u have any questions fire away, I am still early days so if I don't know some of the lovely ladies and gents on here will help too x

I now this is daft but do ya feel different ,do you miss food and do ya think you made the right choice sorry

I don't feel physically different but mentally I do, I have made the decision to do this and I have a determination to get to my goal weight and with this tool I think I hope that I can do it. Everyday I am getting stronger and my body is adapting. I feel a little tired quicker and on occasion I get lightheaded if I stand up too quickly but its just until my body catches up and gets used to the weight loss. week 3 and its the only week that I have been interested in food, I wouldn't say hunger just I am more aware of people eating. my hubby had all sorts first two weeks and it didn't bother me but this week I've reigned him in coz I am starting to notice food more. Not hunger like before though as its still early days for me but I have had feelings of being full and knowing when I have had enough even on 3 tablespoons of food. They say 6 small meals a day but I have reached 4 meals. I feel that for me I have made the right decision, for me and my girls. With work I think depending on what type of work then 2 weeks just not lift anything heavy and bending is a little nippy on ur incisions but other than that its fine x

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine. Actually I was more worried about them cancelling my Ob van about the Op itself. You'll be fine, a little tired, some wind and pain in the first week or two but they will go again and I'm sure you won't regret this decision. X
