... And I'll be back for a Gherkin. Well any pickled savoury veg at the moment.

I've taken to nibbling on a gherkin, pickled beet root, pickled red cabage and silver skin onions at the moment. This is as ether a snack or as a veg alternative with my piece of fish or chicken at supper time.

I suppose there a worse things to snack on, and these end up being quite tasty but not very many calories in them. Downside is, they seem to make my tummy go into overdrive as I hear it gurgling like a good-en almost as soon as I open the jar.

Any suggestions for similar low calorie, but full of taste and different textures snacks?

I love gherkins and before the balloon I could quite easily eat a whole jar.... Not so sure about acidic damage to teeth it could cause though lol

I too have changed from craving sweet snacks to pickled gherkins, onions, piccallili, etc.... I love it as they're low fat/cal, but am a bit concerned re the too much acid thing now....
Although, it HAS to be better than sweets/chocs/crisps!
 
I really wouldn't worry about the vinegar- I've had a weird addiction to it (the strong stuff non brewed - not malt) since I was about 11 (20 years lol) and I've not got a singe filling and perfect teeth.

I really do mean il have it like normal people would have salt & pepper pmsl!! Although its started giving me indigestion since baby was born I still can't give it up :-/

But- if you really wanted to- you could pickle your own in apple cider vinegar which has amazing heath benefits, its something I will be changing to once I've been banded! X
