Waiting for surgery

    Hi my funding has been approved this month whats next do i get letter giving me my date for pre opp lsd ect been on journey nearly 2 years now my mam died inbetween and i gained weight so put me bk a while but funding was getting approved in may so i thought id look at these forum to see what happens it all seems real now im getting excited maybe i shouldnt of looked yet doc at last appointment said look for end of year so im thinking dec /jan but i might get a letter soon with bit of luck so thats me jackie i have 10 stone plus to lose lets see if i can do it xx

    My surgery is going to be in stoke on trent as that is closest hospital that do wls i live in the lakes so none of my local hospitalhospitals do wls

    I started this journey at 141kg ive always been big right from a young age my parents were fat and my brother was on tv he lost 35 stone ended up running marathons and writing a book ...his diary was filmed by itv this morning and he was on tele for while charlie he didnt have surgery ( which is why hes struggerling again bless him )

    Im not sure if im writing this in right place i wanted to start my tread up for my journy but i seem to be talking to my self ( nothing new there then ) anyway im jackie im 46 been on journey with few hicupps for 18 mnths finished all just waiting on letter coming with a date for opp hoping for bypass starting weight 141 kg but im 5 foot 10 so tall fir a female having surgery in stoke on Trent

    Does anyone know when ill have my opp any date will do i just want a date no seriously ive read on here some people its around 3 to 5 mnths after funding granted but all areas have diffrent paths i did mine in liverpool but my opp will be stoke on trent due to liverpool not doing surgery there no more atm anyone had there opp at stoke know waiting times

    Hi! Don't worry you're definitely not talking to yourself! Not sure about waiting times because I was self funded but hopefully it won't take too long to get your date. Any progress you make in the mean time will mean less to lose later so don't be disheartened. People's diaries on here should give you some good tips.
    Your brother sounds like he's come a long way so that's inspiring! Hopefully he gets back on track. I can't imagine running marathons! That'd certainly keep the pounds off. Good luck to the both of you.

    Oh thanks guys ...i cried yesterday over a meat and potato pie my hubby got one while we were up town and i couldnt have one because im counting calories i came home went in the garden and cried

    All through this journey i promised myself that i wouldnt get impatient but as it getting so close to surgery i need to know i wonder how long after funding been done will i hear something keep reading stoires on here and most are getting there surgery within 3/4 mnths off finishing teir 3 some quicker some lot slower got told at my last app be end of year as theres a wait

    Im sorry I don’t really understand the rules n regs and waiting lists babe All you can do is ask them hun I’m guessing. :-/

    The waiting is a killer but from what I have read on here it is worth every second!!!!

    I do too emma then ill see skinny people eating junk and i think how unfair but them skinny people will stop at a pie id eat all the pies and still want my tea ..ive read ur story i think emma ur pre opp like me is that right are u waiting on the waiting apparently once it starts to happen ..ie pre opp date lrd surgery its all systems go i live miles away from my surgery hospital so im hoping to save some money first so hubby can maybe stop in a b and b close by just first day or what ever im not bothered so i keep telling myself its not yet got told at last app theres a bit of a wait so aim toward end of year

    My knees are bad today thats playing with grandkids at weekend ill suffer for days now ..ive got ostrarthritis in both knees im too fat for surgery in my knees so need to have this surgery for health reasons everytime theres anything wrong with me doctors blame cause ur fat i say look ive been fat all my life but suppose as we get older carring all this extra weight must put a strain on ur body more sometimes i feel if it can be blamed on ur fattness then it will be

    Yes with me it’s the same Doctor says it fibromyalgia flare or arthritis or it’s heart related but all will get better when I loose weight xx To be fair my arthritis was better 2 years ago when I was size 6-8 and was running daily and working hard everyday in a manual job so think they are right xx

    Ive just been naughty and phoned stoke i explained i was last seen in feb and she is getting the lady who deals with aintree to ring me tomorrow let me know how far along i am im not on there comper but there is a lot of paper referalls she informed me so she is looking through them see if she can find me do hope im not lost in system ill see what they say tomorrow if i am lost ill be found now ill make sure of it
