Hello from Glasgow

Hi All

A quick introduction, my name is Kirsty and I live in Glasgow. I am just starting my weight loss journey so am looking for advice and guidance on surgery in the hope that I can finally buy clothing from a generic shop!!

I will be self funding so need to do lots of research!

What sort of op are you leaning towards, or is it too early to say ? Did you try the NHS route first?

Not so sunny now lol.... I have discussed surgery with my GP but because I don't have a secondary illness such as diabetes then they have said that I wouldn't be considered.

I've decided to look into it myself as I received some money recently and after 30 years of dieting I have decided to look at some additional help!! I'm leaning more towards banding but purely for financial reasons at the moment!

Research is key and done without rose coloured glasses imo. All options carry risk and rewards.
I am at a different stage in my wls journey as am awaiting a revision to a mini bypass from a band but fire away with any questions. Lots of bandsters on these boards.

It is great if you have a supportive GP.
