Hi,
I'm two weeks post op (bypass) at the moment and I have had the most horrendous taste in my mouth!!!!
I have been chewing sugar free gum and it has been helping loads but I have bought a copy of return to slender and it says that you shouldn't chew gum? Does any one know why?
Thanx tasha xx :)

No sorry not heard of that!, but maybe its because the brain thinks the stomach is going to get food when it doesnt lol

I was told no chewing gum, think its incase you shallow it and it blocks your pouch inlet, sorry don't know the real word lol

Blockages if you swallow and you gulp air when chewing so not good for your pouch. The mouth thing settles down, use a mouth wash or suck the odd sugarfree mint not too many cos of making you go the loo if you have too many,oh and brush your teeth!
