I am very lucky to be 54 and have no grey hair at all.
After my hair has fallen out and starts to grow again will it be gray?
I am not vain (yet) and I know I can colour it just I like to know what to expect. lol xx
There is no guarantee that your hair will fall out Karen, there are tablets you can take the minimise the risk. Alot of people find no hair loss at all post surgery....
Hair follicles are made up of pigment cells, these pigment cells produce a chemical called melanin and it is this melanin that determines our hair colour... and as we age the pigment cells in the hair follicle gradually dies and with less melanin the hair shaft becomes a translucent colour like grey... going gray depends a lot on your genes.
So whatever age your parents went gray at is is lightly you will follow the same pattern.
My father went gray early in life whereas my mother never fully went grey and I fall somewhere in between.
