:D Im very happy . . . NO MORE BAND !!! YEAAAA!!!

For those who remember me from a few weeks ago . .
Arrived for my op and the doc was trying to convince me to just replace it - turns out he wouldnt want it on his record as it would be like a fail for him  cos my weight didnt change at all.

Well talked to him after surgery, he said the port has turned around and the tube had twisted and the band had moved up my stomach - thats why I was having the tight pressure feeling and constant acid, which was worse if I didnt eat!!!

So its all over with now, and although the pain is not nice - its better than when it was put in!

Had the op yesterday and he said im all clear to take it easy and eat as i like. So just had some lovely hot tea and a cupcake to celebrate!! UMMMMMMMMM!

oh well bands dont work out for everyone, i hope you feel better soon after your de band op, and i wish you good luck and best wishes with what ever path you decide to try next in your weight loss journey.

liz x

p.s i hope they gave you a refund !

thanks girls, and lisa I was thinking about asking for a refund (it was never offered by the way), but Im sure id have to fight for it, and im just thankful for it to be over with, i dont have the energy to fight, its not worth the stress!
If nothing else its a good lesson for me!!

Have a cup cake for me Sharbear x

lol dont encourage her to eat that sh*t, thats what got her into this situation in the 1st place ;)

push for a refund he said he doesnt want you down on his books as a fail so that says to me as a gesture of good will a refund should be given.

I know liz, your completly right, at least half the money or something. It would be such a long process though, and ive already lost time with my kids having these two surgeries, its not worth it.
I just want to move on . . . we live and learn!!

more wls? No way. But I will try some kind of diet and fitness schedule, maybe in a gym, so the trainer is going to be checking up on me. Unfortunatly here we dont have any of the weight loss clubs and things you have there, so theres not much support!

who was the surgeon that did these ops he should be shot !

there was two guys actually, the specialist was from belgium and he travels round different hospitals every month, and the one who is resident here is a general surgeon - hes the one i spoke with all the time, Actually yesterday when i spoke to both of them before the surgery the one from belgium was arguing with the resident cos he didnt order any x-rays or anything for me after complaing about the pain of the band moving!

they sound like a pair of cowboys, i hope they dont put anyone else through what you have been through physically and not even an offer of a refund, id be well fuming

Yes I agree with Liz, I would definitely go for a refund. If you bought a TV that did not work, Argos would have it back. The band itself costs about a grand (according to the Fat Dr on TV).

if i was in the uk i probably would complain, but its a whole other world here, and we dont have the kind of rules and things that they have there. So if i wanted to start a case with them it could be ongoing for a couple of years!! its just unfortunate, i should really have done it there!!

Sharbear, if you don't mind me asking, where are you? and how much weight did you want to lose? I might have missed your story being a newbie on the sight but I am curious, especially as I have just had my band removed and am devastated...I know we are all different but am just curious as to your thinking on this Good luck with any future plans for losign your weight.x
