    Confused about NSAIDS post-wls

Yeah NSAIDS should be avoided completely post surgery. Even when taking a PPI. When I first had surgery they gave me codeine to take home which was sufficient in keeping me comfortable. Definitely discuss concerns with your surgeon about any long time medications that you need to take, some...

    milk

Yes I couldn't have milk for about 6 months post op. Had to have soya or I'd get an upset stomach, but I'm ok with it now unless I have a vast amount. Some people continue to struggle with it but there are a lot of good alternatives out there these days. Lacto free milk, almond milk, soya etc. I...

    3 years post op

Thank you everyone. So much. You don't know how much I appreciate the support and encouragement I received from this forum and the friends I have made on here. It hasn't been easy and sometimes I play that down because the memories are painful but I have a real opportunity at life now and I'm so...

Last couple. Who knew I'd ever not mind my picture being taken or I could where nice clothes, including dresses and denim very short shorts!!! It was hard to wear them as I felt so self concious but peoples responses was lovely. I never dared dream this could happen or I could ever be happy :)

    3 years post op

Hi All. I'm just coming up to 3 years post op and I wanted to share some recent pics with you guys. For those who don't know me when I was big I was 26 stone, couldn't walk, couldn't fit in a bath and couldn't stand long enough to shower so had to wash myself on a towel in my bed. I spent...

    Very dark green diarrhoea!!!!!!!

It may be your tablets but when I had dark green stools it was because my liver was playing up (not related to the surgery) so it might be worth getting a check up with the GP. I'm sure it's not but always better to be safe than sorry x

    Problems with Dietician

It makes me laugh when dieticians say things like that about these forums. Most of them have never a food problem in their life, let alone been fat, it helps to talk to people who have been there.

    Emotional Vulnerability

I do think we can feel more vulnerable when we start losing weight. We also get flooded with emotions when we stop using food as comfort, for those who do, and have to deal with those feelings. I have a bit of social anxiety and being big could make that worse, attracting attention etc but it...

    Restriction variation

Yeah I'm the same. Nearly 3 years out. Sometimes loads and sometimes hardly anything. Same food can have different effects on different days. I don't know why but it seems common post wls.

tmi but very hard black poo

Can't say I've experienced myself but definitely get in touch with your team and maybe give your GP a ring too. Unusual bowel movements can be a good indicator that something is up so best to be safe and get yourself checked out. Take care and let us know how you get on x

    Passport after weightloss

I flew when I'd lost 6 stone. No problems. I will have to get another one next time I go though. I've lost 17 stone and look absolutely nothing like my picture. It's the same pic on my provisional drivers licence and when I get ID'd (very rarely now) they don't believe it's me. Happened to me...

    Citalopram anti-depressent

Good for you hun, take control of your illness, don't let it control you. Stay in touch with and visit your GP often. If you are feeling really bad try calling the mental health line - not sure of the number but you can google it. They give great advice and sometimes you need an objective...

Feeling tbe cold ao much ??

Yep, another one here that is always cold and I can't stand it. I'm so glad it's spring and things are starting to warm up a little but my feet and hands seem to be cold all year round. Makes me wonder if it is my circulation but I never felt cold before my op. Lots of fat to keep me warm and I...

Light yoghurts now making me sick

Did he/she offer you any anti sickness meds? I took them for a few months after my op. Really helped - some of us just tend to be sick quite a bit in the beginning. If you can't keep tablets down they do it in injection form so might be worth giving your GP a ring in the morning to see if they...

    Citalopram anti-depressent

I've also been on citalopram for about 2 years. Took about 1 month to really notice a difference, I do still have some anxiety and low moods but I was in a terrible state when I first starting taking it so I do feel it helps. For me I think some sort of talking therapy is useful along with the...
