Acid?

I have heard of this anecdotally on a couple of other specialist sleever forums, but have not experienced it myself yet.

They say the excess acid build up can feel very similar to gnawing hunger -- but it's actually gnawing acid instead (LOL!).

Some of the peeps who I have read (elsewhere) online experiencing this, have said that an extra antacid or Lansaprazole will often abate it.

I've read it too, acid production being taken for hunger. Lansoprazole or something similar cures it. Some go so far as to take the pill as soon as they wake up in the morning, because it calms the stomach and prevents any hunger for the rest of the day. Good enough for me;).

I'm getting ?hunger pains but know im not hungry but the feeling is getting me down, i had read that acid can mimic the hunger pain so I think I will see GP and try tablets. Thanks for your reply x

Hi, Ive recently been discharged after a 10 week stretch in hospital further to complications of surgery. During my stay I was given Lansoprazole by IV as I have and still am nil by mouth. The Lansoprazole appeared to surpress the hunger feeling.

Since being discharged I no longer have the Lansoprazole and have had constant hunger pangs, stomach rumbling which later leads to violent sickness and alot of bile. At the moment Im being provided sustenance via a Nasal-jejula (NJ) Tube so the foods Im given go directly into the bowel.

Its one of the worst feelings in the world
