Craving Meat thanks to MVF!

Anyone a fan of Man v's Food? I am......or should I say was! :p

After 2 episodes today I was starving and craving beef brisket and bbq ribs! I don't even eat beef or pork!!!

The amount that man can eat usually leaves even me feeling sick! but I am so sick of green vegetables today I could have licked the tv watching him devour copious amounts of meat!

I have made a decision to avoid all food related tv until I am able to watch it un-enviously!

It's such a shame because I love cookery programs - MVF, Master Chef and the Hairy Bikers....bye for now :wave_cry:

Anyone else having this problem? And when will it pass?

Hi, I am on the pre op diet before my band and all i can think about is meat! and its amazing how much tv involves food, every advert too.. I am just dribberling here on the sofa!

I know exactly how you feel!

I craved savoury food on my pre op because I was on the milk/yogurt diet and it's not very savoury!
So I drank a few cups of bouillon a day, that just about took the edge off my craving!

On my first day post op though, my daughter sat in my hospital room and watched the food network channel

I did point out to her it was a tad insensitive and she offered to switch channels, but truly all I wanted to do was sleep!

Good luck on your pre ops!

I'ts like food porn for us WLS'ers isn't it? lol

:8855: I couldn't have put it better myself! Although I may feel a little dirty watching it from now on! lol x

I loved watching MVF pre op, still watch it now but think how the hell is he still alive or how on earth is he not the size of a house.

You know it's funny but I really use to be into my food porn lol. I love watching programmes like that and food blogs especially. I hoped that fascination would go away after the op and it didn't at first. I kept reading the blogs and drooling over food I couldn't eat but I don't do it any more. It just started to phase out but I have to agree with you Retfordmag, how is that man not huge? Makes me feel a bit sickly now but pre op I loved watching all that stuff.

Have any of you watched The Hairy Dieters? I have & bought the cook book, loads of great food, and as we cannot eat their portion size I'm guessing we could halve the calories and portion size and add veg or salad.
What does everyone think?

Yeah, I watched some of the shows. I would definitely look into their recipes but probably leave some ingredients out or swap some. I kept thinking 'why are they adding that if they are cutting down, it's like dead calories?' I know they add things for flavour but I think the calories could be reduced further by leaving things out all together or substituting with something else.
The chilli got me....they didn't even drain the fat off the beef, made me heave!....then again I don't eat beef so I'm probably biased ;) - I use turkey mince and that doesn't produce as much fat!

Omg!!! Haha I can't stop watching I know it's bad but the best one is 'the salt lick' episode with the open pit and gorgeous brisket mmmmm haha- can wait for my op on Friday cause i'm soooooo hungry!! xxx

I am an out & out foodie. Yes its my porn! But since sleeve op still watch tv programmes, buy magazines, blogs etc but never want to eat it! Strange but true. Still cook & bake & my family & friends are still loving it. I just don't want to eat it. I even belong to my local branch of the Clandestine Cake Club - we bake lovely cakes & meet up for a night out. I am never even tempted but love the social side. Next meet is 'Who Dunnit' theme me thinks Miss Scarelett in the Library! LOL

That guy in MVF Adam Richman is a walking heart attack, b4 my op i was salivating, now i avoid watching. My OH loves it and shouts to me "omg, come and look at the size of this burrito", no thanks mate i'll pass on that one, im deliriously happy cleaning the kitchen floor!!...sod.
