I have to admit Id rather have all my teeth removed than appear with 'my story' in a magazine. When I went to WW classes the leader was always saying when I get to goal shed get me in the WW mag and various others. Shed have to catch me first - it would be over my dead body
If you do decided to publish your story make sure you have the editorial rights over it and you know where its going to be published, i recently had the opportunity to publish my story in the nationals via the weight loss organisation i went through, in the end i only allowed them to use the story on there own site (as most of you will have seen) as i knew it wouldn't be changed or edited in any way.
Be careful, the press like to tell a story from both the negative and positive sides.
Thanks for telling us, there is no way i would ever tell my story as its very personal to me amd i def dont want the whole world knowing what i went through.
When it comes to FB i only add people that i know and if someone does send me a request and there is no message i always send them a message back and check i know them.
I know alot of people just add anyone if they have chatted to them a couple of times on diff sites but thats not my thing i am a bit 2 private for that lol x
Which website is it? I'd like to have a wee look!!!
:wave_cry:
I am afraid this may be all my fault. She (Susie) approached me before Christmas through a facebook support group. I spent some time on the phone with her telling my story and mentioned minimins to her. Then I never heard from her again. She told me she was 'shopping' my story around and would let me know if she sold it (I think she said I would receive £200 for it if it sold). Anyway, I kinda forgot about it to be honest. I am really sorry if anyone has felt tricked by her, that is very uncool of her and makes me think ill of her. I will probably take her off my facebook now after finding this out.
Sorry everyone, didn't think about it at the time since she was always up front with me about who she was and what she wanted!

Hmm... Brett has posted on FB saying the Daily Mail want to run his story. I personally wouldn't want any of those mercenary SoBs running any story about me. And unless you are media savvy, it can and very often does end up in tears.
Just wanted to add something to this discussion. There's a famous saying about FB which is not to put anything on there that you wouldn't write on your garden wall. I think people have become very complacent about social networking sites, and even forums. It's not just journalists trawling for stories; it's ANYONE that views ANY SITE that has personal info on.
Sorry to be so bah humbug about it all but cynicism sometimes saves the day...and I hate the Daily Mail....
