I was in you exact position last September, even similar weight.
I asked my GP to refer me to the obesity clinic at my local hospital.
He did, I waited a few months for an appointment but once there everyone wants to help ie they encourage you to try the latest slimming tablets, even asked me if I would like to go on the list for surgery !!! SO do some homework.....find out which main hospital near you has an obesity clinic and ask to be referred, you GP should be pleased that you are being pro active and he get's to hand you to someone else to deal with, making his work load easier !!
I was given Acomplia Remonabant tablets and lost 4 stone in 4 months ! I still have 8 stones to lose and I'm just waiting for my date for gastric bypass surgery.
