How to navigate WLSurgery

The top of any website is usually the most important.

WLSurgery is no exception.



Forums, the main guts of the site.

Media (which I will rename to Photos) is the Photo Gallery

Members, a list of the top members by different criteria.

Pierce (replace this with your username), the control panel for you, everything you need is here.

Alerts, the hub of where your notifications to replied threads, new media, watched forums, profile reply's etc.

Calendar is a cool calendar that you can tag your thread for your surgery date or anniversary or whatever you need.(https://www.wlsurgery.com/threads/calendar.160907/)

New posts - shows you all new posts on WLSurgery.

On the left column.

Personal Details: Everyting that is personal to you, dob, gender, weight, height, goal date, start date etc.

Signature, the bit under every post you make (can't see mine? Turn your phone on its side )

Contact Details: Social networks, email etc

Privacy, like show your online status to the site, recieve email from the site, hide/show DOB, who can see what etc.

Alert Preferences, controls how the Alerts work in the first post of this thread.

Avatar - change your profile (known as an Avatar in Forum land)

External Accounts - if you are an avid Twitter/FB/Google accounts user you can use those login details as a method of validating your account on WLSurgery. Not required and not necessary.

Password: change your password

On the column, on the right.

Your news feed - if you follow members it shows you what they are doing

Alerts - a list of all past alerts

Likes received - shows you what likes you got for what content

Your content - everything you have written

People you follow - members you follow

People you ignore - members you don't want updates from

Two-Step Verification - an advanced security that requires you to have an app on your phone that generates a secondary code to validate your sign-in. Extremely secure, so even if somebody has your password they cannot sign into WLSurgery.

Phew!! That was a lot. The rest like show online status is a quick invisible mode, log out - sign out of wlsurgery bye! , and Update your status is a quick way of writing a post to y our profile page.

When you are inside a Forum, the "Post New Thread" will be visible. This will start a new thread.


The Find New will find all posts within a section sorted by newest first. This is useful if you only want to find all new within say the RNY forum!
