Saw an old friend the other day she is 14 and half stone BMI of 36 and she is having a gastric band by keyhole next week on the NHS through Stoke PCT Go figure. So much for criteaiers (spelt wrong lol )

if she has co morbilities Teen she fits the Nhs criteria, if not then im not sure why shes gettinhg this.
 
nope she is healthy just over weight a bit. She can not beleive it either

:) therefor shes a very lucky lady id be pleased for her as this could stop her getting bigger over the years, good luck to your friend x

although we all say OMG ! Where are the rules, i would of snap it up at that weight just to stop me getting any heavier !!!!!!!!!
All i can say it whats her trick bottle it and sell it your make a fortune x

Good luck to your friend, that postcode lottery comes to mind eh!! but she may have problems she doesn't want to talk about...you never know!!
 
surely if she isn't that much overweight when she has the bypass she is going to lose weight and end up underweight and ill, i would question the decision of this, even if she has other problems i can't understand the reasoning behind the decision to give her a bypass with only 36 bmi. Don't get me wrong i wish her luck i just question the hospitals decision to go ahead with it.
 
When I originally got my funding for my bypass my BMI was 37. I do have other illnesses & a disability that assisted in my exceptional circumstances request. So who knows, perhaps this lady has other problems that we just don't know about.

She isnt having a bypass Shaz she is having a band, this can obvioulsy be adjusted when she reaches a healthy weight :)
