She is just gorgeous. I have a wee rescue stuffy and she has issues as she has not been well socialised. I am working very hard with her on this. She is actually the easiest wee dog to train I have ever had and I have previously always had German shepherds who are dreams to train. But....she is just so eager to please me

Leaving her mum and her siblings so young mean she will miss out on a couple off vital socialisation and behaviour opportunities..... If she bit her siblings too hard, they would yelp and that helps self regulate biting within the group. Her mother would also be putting them in their place quite strongly in the couple of weeks before separation. This is unlikely to have happened at 6 weeks

My strongest advice would be to get her into a puppy socialisation class as soon as you can and continue with regular socialisation and training for a good year... I train my dogs constantly as I believe it forms a great bond and establishes who is the boss lol (my rotti thinks it's her for sure). I also take them on pack walks where the owners do not get too involved in the pack structure. We tend to let the dogs sort it out for themselves. Dogs always find their place in the pack. Other dogs teach a young dog good manners which stands them in good stead for life

Another must for me when you have young kids is a crate. Treated as her own space it will give her somewhere to go when she needs quiet time, will make her feel safe and also keep her safe
When you are out - now chewing on electrics or your best
Shoes or in my case with my wee staff my leather sofa!!!

There are so many different methods of training and keeping dogs. I am qualified in canine behaviour. I have had dogs all of my adult life. Mostly rescue dogs with many issues. I realise now that I must have confused my dogs through lack of understanding and knowledge in the early years. Find a trainer or adviser. Someone you trust and get a steer in the right direction - love is sometimes not enough - you have a cross of two terriers. They are tenacious and stubborn by nature at times. I love love love love having dogs in my life - I have no kids. My dogs are my kids lol but this showering them with love and humanising them has made my job harder - they are dogs my trainer tells me. I have to treat
Them like dogs and they will be happier and more secure for it

Enjoy your gorgeous wee puppy she is just. Wee sweetheart xxxxxx

STOP STOP!!!! Oh my god Kirsty what sort of advice are you offering here...if you have young children put them in a crate!!! Were not in the 60's now..there are laws and safeguarding teams that deal with children's welfare!! You can't lock them in a crate!!!! Believe me I tried but fell foul of that one!!

Seriously though I used the crate for the first time with fudge and it worked a treat for training, that and a good beating now and again!
My golden rule is, ITS A DOG! Treat it like a dog it will behave like a dog!
I'm spending this week walking mine in this nice weather..can't wait!!!

Lol

Don't anyone listen to her about beating her dog. She almost threw herself down a shaft a few days ago to rescue her big brute who had fallen in and was trapped lol xx
