Normal food

So I'm 8 weeks post op on Thursday and according to my provider I'm ready to start eating "normally" obviously still small portions and of course healthier food low in fat and sugar (no salad until 10 weeks). I have to admit to being a bit scared. I feel quite comfy on mashed food with the occasional cracker with low cheese spread but obviously I don't want to be on mash food forever so will start introducing normal foods. The thing is I want to start easy so has anyone got advice or can share with me some of the things they ate in the early days that weren't a problem? I know there are threads of what people are eating at different stages but I'm thinking maybe the first couple of things you tried? I know I can't guarantee It won't come back up but would like to decrease the the risk of that if possible :D Any suggestions? thanks :)

Whoops just realised I put this in pre op diet! meant for post op area. Sorry.

Thanks everyone. Think I'm going to dust off the slow cooker and try some casseroles but think I'll try half a cottage cheese jacket potato first. Fingers crossed all goes down well :)

Sausage and mash, chicken, more crackers! :) x

Melba toast n lf Philly is a nice protein hit too, as is mushy peas and some baked white fish x

Completely off topic here, but is that a lizard or iguana in your pic there?
Please say it is....I already mistook someone's dog for a meerkat :D

A good soup is bag of frozen peas cooked in veg stock with 1 spring onion,
When cooked drain most of the stock and set aside, blend with a ball of mozzarella until desired consistency.
Add some of remaining stock to make thinner, mushier etc.

Lol yes it is an iguana, her name is Lennie and she lives in my college's animal unit. In that photo I was stuck there for half an hour as she is standing on her food bowl I was holding - she is massive so your not allowed to move when she that close because if you scare her she could whip you with her tail and that would hurt! She's lovely though :D xx

Oh wow she sounds like a star!
My daughter had a pet shop birthday party last year and we got to hold all the animals including lizards, snakes, frogs, tarantulas oh and some cute but boring baby rabbits.

Oh sounds like my sort of birthday. I've never got the courage to hold a spider yet but use to have to feed a bird eating tarantula crickets, she was friggin huge so that use to make my heart race a bit. Held and looked after lots of snakes, birds of prey, giant tortoises, giant millipedes, deer, alpacas, frogs, sugar gliders etc. and lots of boring bunnies too lol. Right now I just work with mainly cats and dogs but I want to specialise in exotics because they are so interesting :D
