Secret Fantasies!

Big an Bouncy

New Member
Come on guys and gals, whats your secret, post surgery fantasy! Not sexual ones Jac!I will start.I would love to buy a pair of tap shoes and learn to do basic tap steps, not to perform just to be able to do it!Or learn Latin dancing!Must be my love of old Gene Kelly and Fred Astair movies!

ooh, there are so many, but i would love to be able to wear a dress. A simple desire i know, but when you are a size 36 you can imagine it's been a while since a dress looked flattering on me. Now i know not everyone feels the same and i'm sure there are others that would gladly wear one, but for me i look a sack of spuds quite frankly.
A lovely flowing full length beauty with sequins on the bodice and a beautiful bust line. i can keep dreaming x

Stick with it Sarah, even when you think you cant wait a day longer,it will happen.I started back in July 08.and only got my date last week.Im not saying you will be that long but be prepared for twists and turns on this journey.Read everything you can and keep logging on here!I would recommend Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies as a good plain speaking book.Best of luck we are always here.Maz x

2 things for me really which are related the first was to sit in an aeroplane seat with the tray down without feeling i'de just been involved in a car crash and secondly was to enjoy the sunshine on holiday with my top off walking around enjoying my holiday which thankfully i've now done but has as been said there are so many things that even now i look on and think i'de never been able to do that post surgery and its the small things that "normal" people wouldnt understand.

I've got loads of things I'd love to do... inc., ice skating after watching Dancing on Ice (in my dreams).

I'd love to spin around and be whisked in the air and spun without fear... haha... forgetting all about my spondylitis neck!

In reality though, I'm dreaming of fitting back into my full length size 16 black leather coat... and wearing a pair of black ankle boots with a kitten heel again, instead of my usual ballet flatties... and dolling myself up for a school reunion we have coming up later in the year... I haven't seen some of my school pals in forty years, so it's going to be something for me to aim for... I'm truly hoping to be recognised from my past... haha... what people won't realise is that I've spent so many years trapped in my size 24 - 26 body...

I'd love to turn up looking good or my age and dolled up appropriately for my age and a little bit 'sassy classy'... I'll keep you posted!

p.s. I am expecting the 'Rocky Horror Show' with some of my old boyfriends....hahahaha...

Love you all... xxx

Pictures or it didn't happen right LOL

I had a long bucket list of things I wanted to do and have been lucky enough to cross most of them off as done. Most of the others are about doing things that any normal size person could do money permitting so they are not secret dreams, but one thing that I would love to do is make a record or sing on stage with a band. Not just karaoke I'm always up for that, I mean work with a proper band

I love singing so this would be fantastic for me though sadly I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. I think of myself as an Elvis, Matt Monro kind of singer though from what people tell me I guess I'm more of a folk singer really as every time I stand up to sing the people all shout "oh Folk"

I really want to have my wedding dress taken apart and re-made to fit me now, and then have all of our wedding photos redone. I am so embarrassed by our pics that they never get displayed (except on MIL's wall) and I really want to have some I can be proud of. Getting my dress done would be soo expensive though, but I am going to start saving.

Christ you have been patient, i'm catching you up though slowly, just gone 18 months since i first went to my gp. I must admit though that it has gone quite quickly. Lets hope it's not another 18 months or i'll be cracking up lol. i've heard that book mentioned a few times on this site, maybe it's time to invest. Thanks for your words of support x:cool:

Like so many of you, I have a very long bucket list. Most of the items normal people do every day.. like buying clothes in regular shops, crossing my legs, being able to RUN to a bus and not miss it, flying without the added stress of wondering if your seat neighbour is going to be annoyed because he/she has to sit next to the fat lady, wearing boots....etc. Nothing secret about any of these. I just want to be normal in a way.

One of the most important ones for me is being able to go for longer walks in the countryside or on the beach, without feeling exhausted after half an hour. I really enjoy walking, when the scenery is nice, it's just that I can't do it for very long at present.

Oo what a lovely thread! .... :)

I have loads but a couple of things would be for my OH to pick me up and spin me round without breaking his back or making the grunting noises! ..... :)

And to be able to wear some nice underwear and stockings that actually come all the way up and not roll down as soon as i move :)

aww there are loads more .... loving this thread xx

Great thread Maz.. apart from all the "normal" things.. I would love to start travelling again Ive seen a bit of the world and want to see the rest as soon as I feel comfortable in an airplane seat again..

A challenge for me would to complete my local Race For Life.. I would love to be able to run or even a steady jog to raise some money for charity. If I'm lucky enough to get funding I would feel like I was giving something back xxx

Like many others, the list is LONG... One of the main ones would be to wear all those clothes that I've bought in the sales over the years and kept telling myself that I'd wear them 'when I lose the weight'. Some others would be to swing dance with my hubby, to take my kids swimming and possibly most importantly to take part in the parents race at the school sports day - I hate that I have to find a reason to sneak off early every year x
