Hi - just found this offer for £6k from The Hospital Group! It seems too good to be true! The surgical cover is great. I am planning to have mine done in N.I by Phoenix but it will cost £8k and surgical cover is only 12 months. The only problem is the travel but there are good airport links with Belfast.

I've read some mixed reviews about THG but they're from a few yrs ago so maybe they've improved?

Would love your thoughts on this!!

Look at Ramsey Healthcare, my surgeon does work for them and other providers (as they all do) , Including THG and operates in Ireland. Not sure whether north or south though.....

Hi Siana, that's what I am trying to do, I thought the surgical cover was great but I suppose if I am considering "the mainland" for surgery I should check others too x

Hi I'm booked in with the Hospital Group for 13th May. I'm with Dr Paul Super and I've gone for the 2 year package which is £4995.

All good so far, they treated me well and were friendly which is not what I'm used to after feeling like my weight has been the main topic of discussion at every NHS appointment I have ever been to (I remember the days of my old GP telling me I had an ear infection because I was fat! lol)

Just wanted to wish you well whoever you decide to go with, I will be able to offer you a little bit more info when I have had mine done, there are a few ladies kicking around on this site who have all used Dolan Park and have nothing but good things to say

Hi Siana, I'm on the app so I can't see who your surgeon was - did you go with Mr Super?

I went with Mr Hewin in the end, both good surgeons but the after care package better for me as hospital 5 mins from work so could go for fills etc during lunch break.

When I think of the travelling I have done over the last 8 years. Planned fills are fine I can get them booked ahead of time and are local once a month from my provider. Its the times when you need an unfill quick that matters. Is doesn't have to be from your own provider as long as you have someone who can do it within 24hrs. Trust me on this

I had mine with the hospital group in February and found it was a good expiriance overall and am happy with the aftercare so far.

I decided on THG too, I did a lot of research about them and I too found a lot of bad reviews from around 5/6 years ago about after care (of lack of), They do seem to have improved since then. I'll have Mr Super early July.

I trust there will be no problems with refills or appointments I'm sure we can let each other know though

I think an aftercare package is really important. I have had my band for 9 months. It has a slow leak and needs replaced. This is covered

But.....look at a provider with a wealth of expeienced surgeons. I had my op done by an eminent surgeon. He retired - and those left within my provider have no band revision op experience I was with a small provider working out of the Nuffield in Glasgow

So although they will provide my op. It looks like I have to go with a surgeon inexperienced in band replacement. Not good and not something I even considered when I booked my surgery

I would ask about aftercare and the availability and experience off the surgeons within the group
