Im 5 days post bypass and i feel really uncomfortable sleepin as i dnt move at all and sleep in my back all night, it aches my body when i wake up, any help in why to do?

Not sure that I have any advice, Soni .... other than sympathy and empathy ..... I am 2 days post sleeve and also not sleeping 8 hours solid, feeling uncomfortable at night etc.

Have now taken to having little naps during the day to make up for it.

It will soon pass, hunni ... I could not sleep on anything but my back for nearly 2 weeks but it does get easier. It's not surprising considering what we had done. Hope you sleep better tonight xxx :)

I found if I wanted to be on my side, I placed a pillow under the side of my stomach I wanted to lie on to support it. After a few nights I was waking up with hardly any pain. Good luck Soni xxx

Yeah Soni its just a waiting game you will go to bed 1 night and wake in the morning and think to yourself i had no pain last night thats what happens, just gradually disappears. I used to have a lot of back pain if i lay on my back before the op but it was better for me having the cpap machine but, eventually after losing a fair amount of weight i sleep on my back and sides and dont have to use my cpap any more, I have never slept a full 8 hrs I have always been 1 for waking up through the night I try not to come down stairs now, try to stay in bed and go back to sleep. I f you have to have a nap through the day don't worry about it at this stage once you get back to work you won;t need it. I have found that i am going to bed later now on a night, I used to go to bed quite early and if i was going out on an evening sometimes had a n afternoon kip don't do that at all now. So things do will change for you just hang on in there xx

I have made a triangle wedge for my head out of pillows with a hot water bottle at the bottom for my back. And I have pillows under my knees. I get no back pain in the morning this way. Also take my codeine tablet as it helps me go back to sleep after I wake. I wake about every two hours at the moment. Mostly wind pain. Also I cough due to cpap and the cut on my throat.
