Ok so appointment soon and they asked me to write down questions to ask when I see consultant but what do I ask?

How long will I stay in hospital?
How long off work and can I return earlier to light duties?
What vitamins will I need to take before and after?
What weight potentially could I go down too?
When can I drive?
When can I ride my bike?
What do I tell work why I'm having the operation? Ie GORD
What are the persantages of people who have hairloss?

What else.....:sigh:

is this your 1st appointment?
If so, potential side effects, pros and cons of each procedure, long term affects etc.

I've completed tier three and this is appointment with consultant and nurse

Ask about the post op injections ( I only found out that you do it yourself!)
Ask about possible constipation and how to over come it
taking care of wounds post op

I read earlier about injections! It's something that I hadn't thought about being needle fobic I put it to the back of my mind. I'm sure if I took it to dr they will do it!? However thanks for info above I said to my husband I wonder if I will get toilet issues, mind you I have that already.
This site is fantastic I no longer feel alone in my journey ....thanks all X X

As far as I know we all have to do this ourselves it's a bit dauting at first but once you've don't the first one it's easy peasy I found it useful to watch how to do it a few times on you tube it helped to settle by nerves, knowledge is power! Or maybe your husband can do it for you?!

Hah - who's your consultant.

Just read up this thread about injections. Wah!! What injections? Nobody's mentioned injections to me so far and I'm majorly needle phobic

Hi iv had my gastric band five days and haven't had to inject myself once, not sure what surgery your having

Odd - so changes from hospital to hospital?

What are the jabs - anti-coagulants or something? I'd get my other half to do them if he wasn't even more of a wuss about needles than I am! lol

It must change from surgeon to surgeon as we both had it done at Dolan Park, yeah they are the blood thinning injections I'd be a complete tit with them too so glad I wasn't given them x
