Just wondering when you see consultant if you have to have to surgery they think is best for you or do they take into account the one you want when making the desision?

if you pay, you choose :) xxx

I spoke to quite few providers who would only accept me if I wanted a band due to my 'low' BMI, but WLS group said as long as BMI over 35 it's my choice.

Thanks girls. They will recommend what they thinks best tho will they, even if you decide to go with a different one?

Yes both private and NHS surgeons will give you a brief overview of their opinion, but will go with your choice (whether paying privately or on the NHS).

My surgeon (NHS) did make it clear to me his personal recommendation for a person of my size would have been the bypass, but I made my choice for the sleeve and he proceeded with that surgery as it was a choice made in possession of full facts and having heard my surgeon's own opinion.

As an NHS patient I had a choice too, but I agreed with the consultant on a bypass.
Sharonimo you look brill in your new picture
