I've been such a mess lately, health wise. And now today I see my doctor and get told I have to see a GI specialist about my bowl issues. Not looking forward to that. But anyways with everything going on and being sick I havent stepped foot in a gym in weeks .:( it really hasn't been a big problem I've been doing my at home zumba and some pilates at home. I also have some resistance training items at home anyways. But today I weigh in and I've GAINED 2 pounds?? How can this be, it literally sent me into tears. I have to admit I haven't been to the gym and haven't made the best food choices the last week with all these problems but 2 lbs. Is this normal at my stage. I'm 3 months post op and thought this was the rapid loss phase. Which innate been losing quick I started at 293 day of surgery as of last Friday I was 215 and today I'm 217.2. Was really excited to getting outnof the 200's soon and now I'm putting on weight. What should I do? Help.

Hugs Dee xoxoxo. :) :) :) Sent from my iPad using WLSurgery

Hi Dee

Could it be time of the month causing your weight gain. I always gain a 1lb or 2 prior to totm, but it soon comes off again.

I just wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss. You have lost just under 5 and a half stones in three months. That is fast weight loss imo. I was told that we should be looking a stone a month so don't worry about a 2lbs gain, you'll loose it soon enough. Perhaps weighing yourself monthly might help as you'll have an accurate account of you weight loss.?

Well done x

i think thats great amount to lose if have lost that amount but that includes 3 months b4 op too...................but i also put on a 1lb when i weighed the other day, but when i weighed yesterday that and i had lost the lb plus another 2lb , i had my op 25th jan x

good luck and well done x

Your weight loss so far is brilliant. Please don't be too upset by this little hiccup. I hope your bowel problems are sorted soon. Are they related to the surgery?

It could be a million and one things, water retention due to the hot weather/hormones, wearing different clothes or even the scales are in a different place. Try not to let it get you down. You have realised that you are in a bad place and acknowledged this. this is the starting point and you can and will move forward from here. Start to keep a written record of everything you put in your mouth, this will help you think a bit more about it and you will then start to make informed choices. There is always someone around to encourage you and give you a gentle kick up the behind to keep you going.

I have got on the scale today on my wii fit and have, after a year put weight on so we can do this together and be buddies in keeping each other on the straight and narrow and giving each other a kick up the jacksey. What do you say?

Yes they are related to surgery I was getting narrowing of my bowel and have to get it taken care of since its causing me to nor being able to pass a movemnt but I was sent to get a cleansing done.(very uncomfortable) sincw its been about a week since ive used the bathroom #2 (sorry for tmi) and the women said she was shocked at how locked up everything was. Needles to say after my cleansing I lost the 2lbs plus 2 more lol. Sorry but ill never have cleansing again tho lol def not worth it.

I do need to get back on track im only 3 months out I cant get sluggish already. I.have such a problem writing everuthing down. I did it the first 2 months or so, but then life got back in the way. The kids keep me so insanely busy. And now with not finding a rental, our tax money getting lost and having ti refile, and all these stupid health issues ive become even more lost. I nees to focus alil more on taking care of me tho. I sat with the doctor yesterday and realized I couldnt remember the last time I took all my vitamins in one day. I was so sad about this because I had this surgery to be healthier.and I'm not taking care of myself. I'm definitely on to being stayimg on track buddies. I need someone to kick me in the arse lol. All my hubby does is tell me how great I look.

oh Dee - hope ur ok. You have done fantastically well in such a short space of time. You need to give urself credit for that.
Life throws things at us that knock us off course a bit sometimes - keep strong
talk soon
hugs

Hi Hun

You have reached the first plateau that's all . . . I understand that we naturally (though no one can explain why) reach a plateau at about 66 days (widely variable) . . . this continues for approx 2 – 3 weeks than the WL kicks in again. This is why some dieters fail they reach a point of “this isn’t working, what’s the point !” ~ there will be several times where this feeling is expressed but stick in there kiddo you have done fab thus far and your hubby is right you look fab xx
