Help and Advice eneded for Walsall Mannor

Hey, i have been called in for surgery on Sunday at Walsall Mannor, but i haven't had any time to do the pre op diet. They only sent the letter yesterday and when i called they said just come and have it done anyway. I am concerned as i am having mine done laproscopically and would have thought the bypass was even more important. I don't want to lose out, i don't know how long funding is valid for and what will happen if i didnt have it on Sunday its just that i want the best outcome so want to follow all of the advice prior to surgery and don't know what to do?
Any advice?

If the surgeon wasn't confident to be able to complete your surgery, they wouldn't have asked you to come in for the surgery.

Obviously it's your choice, but I am aware of some people who have had the op without completing the liver shrinking diets.

My advice would be to go for it! Your new life could start on Sunday. Wishing you the best of luck, let us all know how you get on x

Hey there

well done on getting ur surgery for Sunday. I am sure that the hospital are aware that you have not had the time to do your liver shrinking pre op diet as they know they have only recently sent the letter out , also the fact you told them you have not done it but they have told you to go in anyway doesnt seem to deter them. Are you Nhs or Private???

i would go for it they are the specialists tehy know what their doing , as teh girls said the at would'nt do it if they thought they couldn't!

Sumptuous Angel i recommend you ring the Manor, NOW! I know of someone who had surgery brought forward there and didn't have time to do the pre op, when he told the admin person on the phone she said it didn't matter. When he got there they wouldn't do the surgery and his was not keyhole it was open....

Ring them quickly xx

I agree with Julie and posted the same on the walsall manor thread. The admin are unaware of the importance of the preop diet. Phone and speak to either dr hartland's secretary, or mr khans secretary. It would be a shame to get there and be turned away.
