Hi everyone hope your all well?
This wednesday i am coming up 9 weeks post op and have lost just over 3 stone since the op and 5 and half stone since pre op diet.

It has been up an down as expected, but easier than i though to some extent

I am finding it hard to get the right amount of food and water....water is a real struggle, does anyone else struggle with this?

Also on the 10th of August im off out and wondering will be ok to have a drink of wine?

xx

Wow well done on your weight loss. It really encourages me when I hear success stories, I'm having the bypass in 3 weeks. Hope my weight loss is as quick as yours. Sorry not sure about alcohol I'm sure someone will be along shortly to advise you. Take care x

I think your supposed to stay off it for a year love xx

I think there's a lot of different advice about drinking post op, my hospital advise no alcohol for a year post op, but I know with others it's a matter of months, I'd go with what you feel comfortable with.
Well done on your amazing weight loss, I bet you're feeling fab :553:

well done on your weight loss sorry dont know about alcohol as i dont drink

Thanks for your responses, I went out last nite and had a glass of wine or 4 needless to say i was drunk...wont be doing that again in a hurry, i havent been ill so fingers crossed it stays that way

It feels realy wierd as my average nite out use to be 10-20 pints on cider followed but shots and vodka!! Major saving on the back pocket now..

Hmm i wonder why hospitals have such a difference in how long beofre alcohol can be consumed?

Anyway it was nice to get out and socialise xx

My dietitian last week said alcohol was fine...but to to remember that it is empty calories, that your tolerance may be lower and also that you may dump due to sugar depending on how you are.

I have had wine twice now. I enjoyed it very much!
