Will pre op diet still be necessary?

Any one know or have experiance of losing a large amount of weight in order to get the bypass, in my case 7 & a half stone with the balloon, if the liver shrinks enough so that the pre-op diet isn't required?

I think they'll still want you to do the pre op diet. Better to be safe than sorry.

i would defo do the pre op diet, well done with your weight loss

I would guess you'll still need the pre-op diet so you livers soft enough to 'flop' to the side xx

I think they'd still want you to do it, because the preop diet is a crash diet. it forces the liver to dump glycogen, which it won't have done so far.
