    February 2015 Surgeries

It's amazing how life has changed, I've just come back from the gym. Have done stuff tonight that would have frightened the life out of me a year ago, my new motto appears to be "In for a penny...". I do boot camps, hiking, and keep up with the younger skinny Minnie's

Well I have no idea what I weigh now but have just tried on a skirt in a size that I don't think I've worn in 20 years, it's a bit smug around the waist but.....it bloody fits, and it looks good. Go me at my age going out tonight in a short skirt and sparkly tights!

Need to lose more weight because the won't do surgery unless you fit certain criteria on BIN, but I am considering a tummy tuck at some point in the future

My tummy would look a lot better if it weren't for the roll of blancmange that the weight loss has left behind, no amount of sit ups is going to rectify that.....roll on tummy tuck!

I am still struggling to get my head around it all. Dead chuffed to get into some jeans I liked, as they looked so good I bought two pairs. 2 weeks later they are hanging off me but no shift on the scales and officially I still have quite a bit more to lose. Really trying to just chill about it all

Bmi over 30 is obese no matter what height unfortunately, but I'm not actually that convinced by BMI as an indicator as its not really that reliable, especially if you are tall. Jonah Lomu (bless his handsome heart) had a BMI of 37, he was all muscle. I like to go by body composition but I'm...

My weight hasn't shifted for ages but have dropped another dress size, must be all the exercise? Trying not to get too freaked about the lack of movement on the scales and focussing on how I feel, which is actually pretty good! My bmi is hovering just above 30, I will be chuffed when it goes below

Best thing to do is Google her, see what hospitals she works at, contact the hospital and ask to speak to her Secretary who will be able to point you in right direction, including the contact details of private secretary if you are self funding. They will also be able to

My experience is that protecting the patients dignity and complying with good infection control practises are two big issues for a surgical team, the only bits that get exposed are the bits they need to get at, in this case the abdomen.

No recommendations I'm afraid, but you are limiting your options somewhat by your choice. Dare say you can only insist on the gender of your surgeon if you are self funding

Saw bariatric nurse today, was considering not going because it's been a hard month, really long hours at work, back late, eating crap cos too tired to cook, no time to exercise, feeling guilty , convinced I had put on at least a stone....So all the old avoidance behaviour crept in, thinking of...
