Not BMI 60, 60 kg/m2 I cant remember how to work out M squared lol

weight not bmi 60

If you'd like to calculate your BMI yourself, follow these three steps.

  1. Work out your height in metres and multiply the figure by itself
  2. Measure your weight in kilograms
  3. Divide the weight by the height squared (the answer to Q1) For example, you might be 1.6m (5ft 3in) tall and weigh 65kg (10st 3lb). The calculation would then be:

1.6 x 1.6 = 2.56. BMI would be 65 divided by 2.56 = 25.39.

go to google and put in Body Mass Index and you can choose a site to calculate you BMI but you need to know you weight and height (preferably in pounds)

I have checked for you, it means to qualify, you need to have an initial BMI of 60 or more or a BMI of 45 or more with one or more of the conditions that were listed.

I think she knows her BMI it's in her profile...:)

ha ha I know how to calculate my BMI thanks  Im confused one part of NICE guidelines are BMI over 40 then another says Over 60,I have no chance then Im 43 :break_diet::cry:

Do you have any comorbidities? Such as Diabetes?

No Im so so sad :cry:I dont want to have illnesses sorry ,I have a normal Blood Pressure no illnesses so I wont get it on the NHS,so Private is my only option,Ive just spent all morning doing a good letter to give to my GP before my appointment and its pointless now.xThanks for all your help though xx

The NICE guidelines are just that guidelines for every PCT, however every PCT has a different criteria based on these guidelines. Some will just ask for the minimum NICE guidelines others will set a crieria with a higher BMI and or must have co-morbidities. The IoW on the BOSPA website says NICE guidelines. Its Hampshire on the mainland that state a bmi of 60 or more or 45 with co-morbidities. But you could always phone your local pct and ask them direct.
