A little confused!!!

When i go to my GP tomorrow, do I ask him for a referal to an obesity surgeon or do I ask him to send an application to the PCT for funding for weight loss surgery.

I am not sure as each area works differently and i decided to go private in the end as it would of taken 2 years on the NHS!, but someone should be along soon who knows the answer.

Hi Helen,

I'd go in and say that you understand that you meet the PCT's criteria for funding for bariatric surgery, and does he have the information to how he would go about referring you for it? My GP had a flowchart which he referred to which helped a lot.
