Spicy is fine ! What you need to be careful of once you have restriction is more the textures of food. Some things like pasta , potato skins can block you up, some meats might be difficult depending on how you cook them.
We all have different tolerances you see, eggs can be tricky if your band is tight as well.
The main thing is , get your protein down, then veg and last carbs if you need them. But if you must have them go for wholemeal pasta, wild rice , ryevita , melba toasts etc...better yet just double the veg and meat so you don't need them.
