Hi to all you mini's who are also facebookers!

Be aware that a reporter is getting our facebook links from Mini's, sending friend requests (with no message) and when accepted sends a messge inviting you to sell your story.

Whilst some of us may be interested in doing this, I dont agree with the way she has gone about it.

I will be removing my FB link from my signature, I have also PM'd Mini.

It is cheeky but that's how journalists operate - they are always fishing for a story and then love to embellish! Frankly I need the money to buy clothes!
 
just put in google search "sell a story" and contact them x
 
Wow I was trying to warn you all! I can understand why people may want to sell their story, I just do not agree with the way she has gone about approaching me and has had access to my list of friends, family plus other details by saying she was from mini's when I asked did I know her. I then accepted her only to find out she isnt a fellow weight loser or wannabee but is touting for business.

each accepted story usually pays approx £300 !
 
The way she did it was totally wrong but thats how journalists operate - they are hit by the recession too and are scrabbling around for a story and this is a good one. What i would say is that anyone who is interested in doing this insist on having sight of the piece prior to it going to press - what you tell them and what they end up printing can be reams apart.

Exactly Caroline and I just wanted to warn the people who may not want a journalist having access to personal information, or who are not interested in selling a story that this is what she is doing.

She didnt tell me what her id was just that she was from Mini's, I foolishly assumed that she was someone I had chatted to previously.

I have pm'd mini the content of her email from FB including her name but not sure I should post it on here?

Why not mail her and tell her to post here stating that she is a reporter and looking for a story, surely that would be the right thing to do.

I wonder how much my story would be worth...lol

She wouldnt be allowed to do that, which is why she chose the devious route. I have removed her as a friend and have blocked her!

Im sure your story would be a great one to tell! but would you trust someone like that to tell it.

Hmm... Brett has posted on FB saying the Daily Mail want to run his story. I personally wouldn't want any of those mercenary SoBs running any story about me. And unless you are media savvy, it can and very often does end up in tears.
 
oooh not for me ... my instructor wanted me to go for slimmer of the year ... not a chance!!!! Wouldnt want my face & body pics splashed all over a magazine for all my business associates or even friends and family to see!

Good luck to those that have the inner confidence though!
