Hi does anyone else use a Fitbit?

Hi ya, I purchase mine last week Fitbit charge HR I love it, In a week I walked 18.5 miles and over 40,000 steps .i love it's it keeps me motivated. Xx

That's sounds great idea. My boss said I am obsessed with it, I like visiting the toilet to make up my steps lol. The weekly dashboard is good but synchronising to my iPad is temperamental. X

Yep, I'm a Fitbit lover too! Have one permanently attached to my bra strap.

I'm a fitbit user too..
I bought mine to use after my bypass and I love it..
Took me months to use it properly though as when I was in the honeymoon loss stages I didn't worry about steps etc..

Now I use it everyday to log and It makes me feel bad when I miss my 10,000 step goal or water target lol..

Very motivational

I have a jawbone up band which is great for excercise and sleep but not so great for food logging. I don't know if the Fitbit is good at food logging though.

I have a fitbit one which I have to confess I don't use much any more probably because it made me realise how inactive I am and I felt guilty :(

It's pretty good though, more accurate that the flex for counting steps apparently but I prefer the food logging on mfp though you can sync them.

Really must dig it out and charge it up......

I done a lot off research , I got was Fitbit charge HR as the reviews were good. Paid £116 on Amazon. All stores are out of stock. I am a bit obsessed I log my food on my fitness app, the Fitbit app and old fashion paper and pen. X

I had a fitbit charge and love it. Unfortunately lost it last week and despite trading around all the shops no-one has seen it so I have ordered a fitbit zip so will have to do without the stairs and and the sleep options but I think they are very motivated and would recommend.

I have the Fitbit Flex and it's super cool for food logging.. Very easy and quick once you get started..

I think I agree about the accuracy of the steps though as I am a gym user and the treadmill distance and fitbit distance are never the same..

Fitbit logs less distance everytime..

I also walk along the seafront where I live and there are measured distance points for joggers etc and again the Flex seems to measure under them..

But it is only a guide so I'm not fussed about it ..

Since I've been using it properly my weight has started moving again so it is defo motivational for me that's for sure x

I think I want something like the Fitbit - as I'm on the wards most days we have to be bare below the elbows - do they still work if they are in your pocket? Or is there any other gadget that is more suitable???

Ahhhhh perfect - thanks crystal rainbow!!!

your welcome :) I love my fitbit one....my only problem was when I brought the charge HR...... it didn't fit correctly and try and return it !!! impossible..... no problems with the one tho as it fits on bra........ :) I love it x

I have a Fitbit Flex - in fact if anyone wants it, drop me a PM with your address and I'll more than happily send it to you.

Unfortunately I didn't find Fitbit terribly useful for me for the following reasons:

  1. I do a lot of swimming; Fitbits aren't waterproof so you have to enter the time manually...which I'd generally forget to do
  2. They can't track strength training; again, you enter it manually
  3. Cycling? Again, they can't track it. Manual job
  4. Treadmill. I found the results extremely dodgy. More accurate was a Polar watch with chest strap heart-rate monitor that automatically syncs to most gym machines and measures your calorie output based on your heart-rate.

In short, I found the Fitbit to be just a glorified pedometer with a food log attached and in all honesty if that's the case, you can just load up the Endomondo app (or others of its ilk) that'll track your walking distance by GPS and sync it up to something like MyFitnessPal.

The new Jawbone Up3 looks more promising as it has skin sensors so can track exercise that's not centred on taking actual steps. I believe it's waterproof too.
