I've had the usual comments, why can't you loose weight by not eating so much, doing more exercise etc.
To that my comments are if it were that easy I wouldn't have had surgery. I've tried every diet in the book, been successful, then put it all plus more back on.
A few people in work seemed to have gone on diets while I was off after surgery and one colleague was is out right competition with me, more interested in what I'd lost compared to her!
For me, if it's given people the insentive to loose weight the conventional way, all power to them. I'm not convinced that diets work, if they do, they've never worked for me and my bypass is.
I think some of people reactions to our sudden weightloss (if they don't know you've had surgery) could just be curiosity or the fact that they think you've got some really bad illness that your not telling people about.
I'm putting all snidey comments down not to sheer jealousy now, I am no longer the biggest in the room and it intimidates some people. I can't be put down for my size any longer and my confidence has grown while my size has decreased.
I've still got 3 stones to loose until I'm a healthy BMI and all I hear off people is that I'm loosing too much weight. Again, people's fear of change. I think we change too quickly (appearance) for individuals to grasp.
