how do I set up a ticker?

Hi folks...... can anyone give me advise on how I can set up a ticker?
I keep seeing all your lovely ones and now
:cry:I WANT ONE TOO :cry:
It keeps asking me for a user name and password, and when I use the one I use on here it's not avin any of it!!!!
