just wondered, I've made a chilli (no kidney beans so we have chick peas!) is this thought of as a slider food??

Thank you. Xx

Yes according to my surgeon it is. It's already "minced" usually in some sort of gravy no matter how frugal even its slightly wet it will slide through your pouch. The idea is for food to stay a little bit in there ;)

What is a slider food please?

Debbie

Basicly any food that requires little chewing, is easily chewed or is already a mush is classed as a "slider" as is anything too wet (in a sauce/gravy). Not good for weightloss and dosent readily give you that full feeling.

No problem gladyis
I am bypassed but pretty sure it's the same for banders ...if not I'm sure someone will put you right ;)

it depends how much sauce it is in, with a band you'd still need to chew mince especially if you have a good level of restriction, so if it was only in a little sauce and needed chewing etc then no, it's not necessarily a slider good. Similar if it was cottage pie, if only limited amount if gravy then it wouldn't necessarily be slider.

Thanks everyone, it is actually really large chunky mince, with lots of veggies and beans, so lots of chewing required.....!

And it tastes good, that's the important bit!
