Success!
Aren't you guys the sweetest thing ever to be worrying about me!!!
Yes, i've been bypasses on Sunday 5pm as planned! Still can't believe it!
Feeling pretty good and certainly had no pain at all, the staff are so nice and concerned and they really don't make you feel fat- If you know what I mean??
I got here early on Sunday and just vegded out in my room watched Corrie, they took my bp a few times and it was pretty good for me LOL! And eventually it came right down to 157/75! Which is bloody low for me! So, I think that maybe the hypnotherapy really worked, I didn't really believe it would but those readings got unaturally low for me, can't think why else it would be low. Anyway my lovely gp had faxed them saying that there was nothing wrong with me bp at home and there was no reason not to go ahead!
Anyway, the only nasty bit is the bit right before the op, they walk you into this scary room full of nasty looking equipement, there are double doors which lead to the operating room and you can hear the surgeon chatting while he operates on the patient before you!!!
Anyway, you lie down on this scary looking table and strap you up to the bp machine and stick some things on you back. My bp was quite high at this point but they were all fine with it, I did my deep breathing and it came down a bit. The anesthesiologist came in all chatty and gave me a jag in back of hand they asked if I was ready and put a gas mask on me and that was it - out cold! Woke up 3 hours later back in my room! I had a morphine drip in my hand and obviously the bp machine still attached, which took a reading when it felt like it!
Feeling pretty good really, just stiff and I have aches in funny places - like my jaw! I assume they must put a tube down, but had no idea until my jaw started to ache!
In case you are wondering it is too bloody hot in here and I can't sleep, wish I'd gone home after one night- two nights is too much bored to death, knackered and too hot to sleep!
Can't think of anything else right now, so I'll try to get to sleep again!
Night night!
